That's been my take since the season ended, I mean really if you look at what his extension would mean it's supposed to lower his cap hit but does it really how much does it really save us this season to put together A Team right now??
I'm no capologist but I'm looking at what we owe him now versus if we restructure them at what like a new deal would cost how much 55-60??
we don't we don't even know right now we're looking at taking that $60 million cap hit this year but instead of restructuring him let Mike McCarthy/ Prescott in this team be on a prove it now deal and then worry about 2025 when it comes.
The way around this is them doing all they can do restructuring every contract they possibly can and any new contracts that come up kick the can way down the road to where you're going to be in this position with some other players like CD Lam or Parsons where you going to owe them a lot of money all coming due maybe at the wrong time but still if you want to find out whether you want to sign this guy or let him enter free agency it's better to let it ride in my opinion...
I personally would like Prescott to stay I like Prescott I have no problems with him but I want to see how he reacts with Mike McCarthy on a year where it's all on the line or it could be the end of the line...
If the team truly wants to reboot like completely start over it starts at quarterback really and if you have an opportunity to get out from underneath a big contract and start over this would be the way to do it just don't extend Prescott...
I don't claim to be a professional like I said I don't know anything about the cap how it would work but I think this would be smart for Jerry to say this is it go after that NFCCG or we might just move on..
