Jerry for once prove that you are not that dumb and don't extend him. Force him to prove that he can actually get the team into a Championship Game at minimum.
0% chance they make it to the championship game on that cap hit. That would mean zero free agents, zero trades and cutting multiple players

Exactly..............if Dak and his agent come in to Jerry's office demanding the richest contract in NFL history, then Jerry should just turn around to the TV on the wall and start playing the Green Bay game.

Dak best be given us a hometown discount ($50 a year max) after that abortion of a game.
Well that should go for anybody demanding a contract this year correct I mean they should lock them all the entire team should be forced to check themselves in at 5:00 PM on a Friday night have their eyelids sewn open and I have to watch that game on a loop until Monday morning and they could be released until March contract time new year comes up we should make these dudes watch this game over and over before they come in making demands....

Graziano is pretty well plugged in. That said, the stench of that horrendous playoff disappearance was so bad, it apparently sobered up the owner and his half wit kid. Believe your eyes Jerry and Stevie, it REALLY was THAT BAD.
Well, what's fair is fair the entire team played bad that means nobody gets a new contract that means nobody gets to demand market money

they should all take bless and give team friendly deals because of that one game? Let's be fair here there was nobody on offense playing well and the defense 100% was trash and so is the coaching staff so they should all be playing for their contracts this season they should not get market money because if you're just picking on Prescott that's ridiculous...

Looks like that site was trying to boost its traffic by talking about the Cowboys. I wonder if that source actually exists or is a figment of their imagination
That site belongs to Jerry Jones through a shell corporation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

look none of us in here are experts....

.
so, I don't agree with it until I see it... I mean if they restructure a ton of contracts if they cut enough people maneuver all the new deals coming up to be kick the can down the road they can use the other contracts versus Prescott to figure out how to put together a good team this year I see other teams do it.. Most of the really good quarterbacks in the league right now are making close to $55 million a year somehow they're managing to put together good enough teams...

I'm not saying you're right or wrong I'm just saying my take on it is we don't know how much he's asking for if he's asking for 55 to 60 million I don't see it saving that much money and at that point if I'm Jerry I'm making him prove it I'm making him earn it.... And I don't know the contract details but that means Prescott gets to become a free agent so we're gonna lose him anyway if he decides he doesn't want to stay here if we don't extend him so there's that caveat although there's a lot of Cowboys fans that would love that for him just to leave I'm not one of them but I also got a guy giving him that kind of money without him and McCarthy going out there it's showing why they deserve it....

It does feel like a catch 22, damned if you do damned if you don't...

so I don't know...

This will linger into the draft and he doesn't sign one before then we all sit hopelessly watching pick after pick after pick after pick...Our QB throws a pick...more picks. At some point we yurn for a QB pick to provide validation we are moving on from said QB, and no QB will get drafted. Next day, 5/290 signed. Wait for it
We used a 4th round pick on Lance so everyone can forget about the Cowboys drafting a QB. You can’t be trying to develop two young QBs. The team wants to put all their time on developing Lance, where he’s getting a lot of reps in camp and preseason.

Maybe that's the intent.........you bet if the season starts going south early, we could see Lance at some point before it is over. If you think about Dak has little or no value if we chose to eat the cap hit coz his future with the team is obviously over IMO.

If we don't rework his contract, you can kiss FA signings goodbye. And most likely him also. We cannot franchise him, once he plays out this year, we have zero control over where he goes. Maybe we can tender him? Maybe his agent got all excited about the no franchising and forgot about the tender?

Apparently Jerry saw enough during TC to know Dak is not the guy. Lance was the first sign of discontent.
his performance against tough defenses over his career has finally put the nail in the coffin
Lance was a safety net in the event Dak continued to regress. That didn’t happen. What happened in the playoffs didn’t put any nails in his coffin. They’re not about to turn to Lance in 2024. He has yet to prove he can play.

I have no idea how you can honestly even say that. If Dak had played well, he'd already have a huge new contract in hand.

Not a trusted source, and if you know the Joneses you already know how this Dak contract situation will go, just reference the last time he was up for an extension.

Dak's getting an extension, like it or not. The Cowboys won't be able to field a team without it and they are not releasing him. Just not happening even though many of us think it is time to move on. Todd Francis destroyed the Joneses on Dak's contract..

The offense was the main reason dallas lost the last 3 playoff games but I'm sure they will resign dak before th draft. What else can we do? Roll with Lance and rush and draft a qb? Hard to just let a top 10 qb walk.

Like I said......perhaps the intent is to force him to play his final year with a skeleton team. If he can still get us to playoffs and win a game or two, he gets a big extension offer. If not ........both move on. But if/when the season starts going south, you have to see what Lance can do.

Dude you just lost all credibility in here from me,
absolutely not you're trying to blame the offense for a defense that couldn't stop that Packers team from the first snap to the last snap a defense that gave up 21 straight points out of the half you know it'd be odd and ironic if we had the 49ers defense who made enough stops and bowed their back up enough to allow that offense to have time to make a comeback in the second-half and ours just puked all over the field probably literally if you listen to what tank said they were all really tired they had Boo boos and they couldn't make it through a game... And we could go all the way through all the losses in the regular season and pretty much it was on the defense more than it was on the offense that's a fact go watch the games again...

Seriously if you were gonna point out one large part for a reason we lost that game it was the defense yes the offense was bad I'm not arguing that but please don't say they were the main reason the main reason was because the defense wasn't gonna make a single stop all game you would have had to score 45 points to win that game hey Lamar Jackson how'd that Ravens defense do in the playoffs that's right three points in one game 17 points in the second game which came with a showdown and that offense only scored ten points I would say the reason they lost that game was because of the Ravens offense that's pretty easy to see that defense did all they could after the second quarter to make sure that offense had a chance to make a comeback our defense puked all over the field..

So let's go back to 2022 sure the offense didn't play great but it was a very close game but Trayvon diggs dropped a sure interception and didn't go make a big hit on what also nobody brings up how did that big pass get thrown on us alright the defense gave it up and they didn't make the hit to dislodge it when he was bobbling the ball they also gave up drives in that game they did not play like the Ravens defense they did not play like the 86 bears or the 2000 Ravens defense or some of the best defenses in the league with the give up under 13 points a game you're giving credit to this defense when they were a problem as well..

Let's go back to 2021 there were 14 penalties in that game and yeah eleven were on the offensive line so somehow that leads back to Prescott again in another one score game... Well that covers the last three games these are team losses but if you think this year was the main reason was offense you did not watch the game you must have listened to some friends who also didn't watch the game maybe you watched it on a Bleacher Report?? Somehow you believe because there were some mistakes made in the first half with some interceptions and some failed drives that it's on the offense when we saw a team like the 49ers getting the same hole we saw a team in the Ravens that gave up seventeen points in the first half and somehow their team somehow to make adjustments and their defense has found a way to shut down or at least slow down the other team...

But I love it when fans come in and say the main reason and the last three losses were the offense and I'm telling you it was ohh team losses but this last game the entire team and coaches were bad there was no main reason it was pretty much all in bad...

But I love the example I gave you because it's very obvious that the 49ers had the same problems in the first half against the lions but their defense found a way to make stops gave that offense a chance to make up for their mistakes just like we saw in 2021 you know Matthew Stafford threw 20 interceptions and two of them were in the Super bowl but they didn't lose that game they didn't use the excuse their quarterback made a mistake and that if unless he's perfect they have to win a game...

Wonder how many more years will be wasted on this failed experiment?

We cant get under the cap with Daks contract.

That 60 million dead cap is a killer.

next add his 34 million salary.

#Lance
There may ways to get under the cap without doing anything with Daks contract. Does Jerry have the fortitude to do the right thing after seeing Dak crap the bed again probably not, trade a few players, cut a few and restock with cheap players and tell Dak and MM show me. The O side of the cap is more than twice the D side and Dak could not get it done and folks complain about the defense. Cut Dak post June, or find a Dak approved trade partner or cut others and let the terrible Jerry deal end by season end, there is no downside to letting Dak eat up 60 million the real downsides is extending him.

You're talking about dumping players such as Martin. Sure you want to do that?
