Why?

What has Singletary done to inspire such confidence? Whose D has he coordinated? It looks like his current boss, Mike Nolan, doesn't want to give him that position and he has worked with him since 2003, so, why would we want to do that?

These are my thoughts as well. Why is everyone on the Singletary bandwagon all of a sudden? The 49ers didn't exactly strike fear into anyone in regards to their defense.

Wow... how about that? Norv telling Jerry what he wants in order to accept the job. Good for Norv.

Now, about that DC, if it's Mike Singletary, then count me on the Norv Bandwagon.

It could be the great Dave Campo

Because people like the way he said " I like this kinda party!" back when he was a player.

Seriously, thats why.

:banghead:

I see...

In that case, can we get Lawrence Taylor up in here. I loved it when he said "lets go out there like a bunch of wild dogs!"

I won't complain if it makes sense at some level. Bring on JG, makes sense in the area of bring youth and fresh ideas. Hiring Norv, makes no sense to me.. what does he bring to the table? He has failed in every HC position he has had. Now I understand that JJ wants to groom Romo, but if JG is the person they are selling, that is what he is for. I just wouldn't understand the logic behind Norv being brought in. I also wouldn't understand the promotion of Bowles if Norv is the HC. Now if we bring in a good defensive minded coach, such as Ryan, Rivera or even Phillips, then I can see Bowles being promoted, he would have someone in place to bounce idea's off of.

My only hope is JJ does something that makes sense, which might be a strecth for this owner we have.

Norv has had success and because of that success he was given a chance as HC for Danny Boy in Washington and the Raiders those teams’ problems run deeper than HC. So what makes no sense to you others it makes sense to some. Myself I would have no problem with Norv, I would rather go after Phillips at this point but who ever is selected should at least be given the chance to prove themselves. For those who are depressed and want to jump off a building please come see me I'm sure I can find a building for you after all it is better than hearing the whining that is taking place, as if any of us know for sure what any candidate will do. One other thing who ever is picked will be expected to win right away there will be no time given so I would hope people will at least give them who ever a chance at the get go and judge them by the job they do and not their own preception of how you think they will do.

Also, if this report is true, it does inspire some confidence in (or at least respect for) Norv, that's for sure.

Which in turn may win him some respect in the clubhouse.

Norv has NOT had success as a HC, only as a OC. And he only worked for Synder the last 2 years in was in Washington. And what on Earth makes anyone thing that working for JJ would be any better than work for either Synder or Davis, they all seem to be about the same to me.

Oh yeah, that's it, Norv... Push Jerry around! Your prior coaching record gives you so much clout!

As does Jerry's record as a GM. How do all those draft picks and free agent signings look since 1994? Only the best of GM's would find the wisdom to trade two No. 1 draft picks for a guy who runs go routes. Call me when Jerry Jones the GM makes an intelligent move to improve this franchise. Needless to say, I won't be waiting by the phone.

I hate hearing/reading comments like that. Goodness....coaching the Boys doesn't have to be a reunion tour deal. As Al Davis says...Just WIN Baby! Using old castoffs doesn't necessarily guarantee this.

So if Norv and Campo become the HC and DC, who do you think will be in charge? Norv, Campo....or TO :laugh2:

Where is a coach with backbone and respect coupled with talent and know- how when you need them? Oh yeah....the Boys let him go the the Saints...:banghead:

You don't dictate to JJ when you're the lowly Norv Turner. Keep on interviewing Jerry, you can do better than this pock marked clown.

You just said it "Seems" we don't know how things will turn out we put our own perceptions and say that is the way it will be, we don't know this. Jones very well could have learned from past mistake and may very well give the HC be it Norv, Phillips, Ryan or whoever a big say in player and staff acquisitions. There is no doubt that who ever is named there will be great expectations placed on them for immediate success. Heck we may get a good indication with FA and the draft but to write any coach off before he has even stepped into the role is a bit pre-mature

This is the first thing I've read about Norv's potential hiring that actually gives me a positive feeling about him.

I could live with Singletary as DC...working alongside Bowles. I could live with that.

I can only live with Norv as HC if we have a good DC to completely turn the D over too. I don't want Norv on the defensive side of the ball. Just worry about Romo, training JG and the running game.

That's exactly what I'm hoping for too.

And until Danny Boy came along, he had the Skins headed in the right direction... go check his season by season won-loss record in DC, you'll see what I mean...

NFL Network's Adam Shefter, talking on WFAN, said Norv Turner told Jerry Jones he had a specific defensive coordinator and personnel guy that he'd have to bring to Dallas before taking the Cowboys job.

I just hope this 'personnel guy' isn't a replacement for Jeff Ireland. I don't think Norv is known for his ability to judge talent.

I thought so, too. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened had Dan Snyder not come along. If he's the next HC, I'm hopeful the third time is the charm for him. It might not be, but I think he can do some great things with Romo and the offense, the key is going to be who is running the D.
