Difference between the Cowboys and other teams is when they get turnovers its going to result in points. Cowboys defense is too bad for the offense to get any turnovers. So basically the Cowboys are screwed. They have to play flawless football to even HAVE a shot.

Which is the sign of a really bad team which in this case is crazy because we have a powerhouse offense.

that lets you know how BAD this defense really is.

Zeke’s fumbles have got to stop.

for crying out loud.

Dak needs to stop fumbling too but blind side hits produce fumbles all the time. It’s hard not to fumble in those situations. Zeke’s fumble today was ridiculous.

Total bonehead play. He was actively getting tackled and didn’t bother to put 2 hands on the ball. If he just puts two hands on the ball on his way down. He doesn’t fumble.

That’s midget football stuff right there.

I wish Dak didn’t have to drop back as much as he does. Throwing the ball 60 times a game significantly increases the chances of committing a turnover but the defense won’t get a stop and one fumble (or TWO Lol) and you’re in a hole.

The o-line might not be as much of a train wreck as the defense right now BUT it’s still a train wreck.

The defense is a completely derailed train and the o-line is a partially derailed train wreck. They can’t establish the run early on because they aren’t getting any push and we can’t establish Zeke with any consistency. Steele better not see the field again. Not ready for the big time.

If you are dropping back and throwing it 60 times (not checkdowns but meaty throws) I would be VERY surprised if you did not have at least 1 INT. It is just a by product of throwing that many times. They know its coming and are going to try and jump routes or SOMEONE is going to mess up.

I don't need any unit to be perfect. Just manage it better. Giving the ball away three times each week is going to skew things considerably. Today we are tied 14-all with the ball and the fumbles begin. And Cleveland could have come away with another couple of picks quite easily.

True. the game changed immediately on back to back turnovers.

No it didn't. It started before that. Dallas was up 14-7...and then Cleveland immediately march the ball down the field and tied up the game.

I notice that people are trying to act like the fumbles suddenly caused the Browns to start scoring...when they had just scored a TD after the offense had a long drive.

Blame for this loss lies SOLEY with the defense.

The loss doesn’t reside solely on the defense. We do have to protect the ball better BUT the defensive issues we have are reasons 1-5 as to why we suck so bad so far this year.

I can’t accept the fact the defense doesn’t force turnovers.

Last season the bottom 10 teams
At forcing turnovers didn’t make the playoffs.

Good teams need to force turnovers. The cowboys will not be a good team until they start forcing turnovers.
Oh I agree they need to force turnovers but at this point I would be happy with just stopping the run and holding onto the ball on offense. That would be start.

Yep turnovers. Stop turning the ball over and they can still win with this defense, every now n then.

we should be able to overcome those....this offense is aggressive and explosive....turn overs sometimes come with the territory.....but this defense can never get the ball back....

Agree.

the defense should be forcing like 1.5 a game. That would be middle of the pack across the league. To force 1.5 a game.

they are forcing 0.5 per game right now.

What’s our record with an extra turnover forced per game? Probably 3-1. At least 2-2 for sure.

The cowboys offense commits too many.

the cowboys defense never forces any.

#1 reason they are 1-3.

Cowboys defense is on pace to be dead last in forced turnovers. You can’t win football games without getting some turnovers. It’s going to kill the team all season long if it doesn’t change.
All true, but the defense also can’t stop anything. Not producing turnovers wouldn’t be as big of a problem if the defense could get off the field every now and then but they can’t. As a result, the offense has to play perfectly and that isn’t possible.

the browns punted twice in their first 9 possessions, that made the score 34-14. so 7 possessions, they score on...and 300 yards rushing....OMG....no team can win giving up 300 yards rushing....horrendous and you can't blame the secondary for that

The entire defense is just pathetically bad. It isn’t even in question.

Offense definitely needs to cut down on the turnovers but the defense doesn't have to give up a TD every time it happens.

The cowboy defense is historically bad, the cowboys knew the Browns were going to run the ball, they even knew where the Browns would run and they still couldn't stop them. The Browns averaged 7 yards a carry, while passing for less than 200 yards.

307 yards rushing by the Browns, how many teams win a game when allowing 307 yards rushing?
