Turnovers are the problem

Anyone who thinks the problem is one thing is wrong.
You can have a completely clean game, but if you must score 30+ every game to win, you will be passing way too much since our run game is struggling. You might win a game here or there if you don’t turn it over, but with this current defense, there will be turnovers by the offense.

All true, but the defense also can’t stop anything. Not producing turnovers wouldn’t be as big of a problem if the defense could get off the field every now and then but they can’t. As a result, the offense has to play perfectly and that isn’t possible.

Correct. The offense has zero margin of error. Given the fact the defense is on pace to be the worst ever.

Look at this game. Cowboys were down by 3 with 3 minutes left.

one turnover by the defense and the game could have been totally different with the cowboys having a lead at the end.

just one turnover by the defense. And they can’t do it.

I mean they don’t even knock the ball loose and force fumbles.

We had one and the ref made a ridiculous call

They certainly put unnecessary pressure on the defense. Most teams that lose the turnover battle typically end up on the losing end. No doubt a big problem even if the offense can put up points in a hurry.

Yes. But the defense also does itself no favors. They need picks. They need to force some fumbles. They have to start getting some or we are screwed.

Between the offense having to always drive the ball down long fields to score and having to score 40+ points every game just to give this team a chance to win, I would say that the defense puts more pressure on the offense than the other way around. It would be one thing if the team was losing games because of the offense turning it over while the defense was holding opposing offenses to under 20 points every single game. But, the defense keeps on letting opposing offenses get a ton of yards and points, which puts the pressure on the offense to have to play perfectly and then score on every drive to give this team a chance to win.

Well the 2 turnovers led to a 14 points. Defense can't seem to hold up having to defend when the ball is given back inside Cowboys territory. It would be nice if the D could bail out the offense and hold to field goals. It's demoralizing to the defense having to get back on the field after giving up a couple tds already.

There's no doubt the D is the biggest problem here. However, despite the awful effort 1 less turnover by the offense in each game likely puts the Cowboysnin position to win despite the D.

And one More turnover per game force by the defense (which would still make them only average across the league at forcing turnovers) and the cowboys are probably 3-1.

Zeke is leading all RB's with 3 fumbles in 4 games. They should have never paid him.

The cowboys offense commits too many.

the cowboys defense never forces any.

#1 reason they are 1-3.

Cowboys defense is on pace to be dead last in forced turnovers. You can’t win football games without getting some turnovers. It’s going to kill the team all season long if it doesn’t change.
It's not helping but the D is the main reason

Turnovers are huge and you must be on the right side of the TO diff but I don't think it's fair to expect a defense to create to's.

The onus is on the offense to protect the ball much more than the defense to take the ball.

In other words, not giving up the ball is the meat and potatoes. Taking away the ball is the gravy.

Defense is an afterthought to Jerry Jones who wants every game to be a horse race with a photo finish.
