We've only seen one game so I'm projecting here but play along. It seemed the role we envisioned for Deuce Vaughn was given to Kavontae Turpin in the opener. He was the guy in the gadget role behind Pollard and the JAG that is Rico Dowdle.

There doesn't seem to be enough snaps to go around for the four of them so my question is this.

Would you rather keep it as it was on Sunday night since recency bias has Turpin finding the end zone in the opener and he's now probably an uber weapon around here or do you want that role to go to Vaughn?

Again, they can't possibly feed four. Deuce was the odd man out in the opener until the game was well over. Someone will be the odd man out on Sunday and going forward. So pick one.

I'm team Wonka worker myself.

I didn't like utilizing Turpin the red zone.

He's probably the lightest player on the team.

Just give it to Pollard every single time in the red zone.

They will use both. They did bring Deuce in on the goal line in the 1st quarter, but the Giants called timeout.

You are reading too much into it. It was the first game for crying out loud. Schotty already said they didn't show everything because the Cowboys were so far ahead.

Deuce got in there early but the Giants called time out.

Deuce is a rookie. Barring injuries at RB, I could see game days soon where he is inactive. That could change later in the season.
It will be interesting to see when and where Turpin lines up this Sunday -more snaps at WR if Cooks sits out / has a reduced role?
My take on Vaughan is that the Cowboys will bring him along slowly...perhaps getting in earlier this game on a few plays.

Not saying he can't be successful there. But it's much more risky to use him in that situation.

There is less space for him in the redzone area and it plays against his strength in speed.

One big hit on him could be catastrophic.

Deuce is a little more exciting than Turpin imo. Don't get me wrong, I like Turp a lot but I don't really wanna see him in the backfield. I think Deuce is more capable of a home run.

That said, I'd rotate them all.

Ideally:
Tony gets 12-15 carries
Rico gets 5
Deuce gets 5
Turp gets maybe a jet sweep and is more involved in the short passing game on crossing routes and such.

*I'd also like to see more of Leupke in short yardage opportunities.
