Turpin or Deuce?

We've only seen one game so I'm projecting here but play along. It seemed the role we envisioned for Deuce Vaughn was given to Kavontae Turpin in the opener. He was the guy in the gadget role behind Pollard and the JAG that is Rico Dowdle.

There doesn't seem to be enough snaps to go around for the four of them so my question is this.

Would you rather keep it as it was on Sunday night since recency bias has Turpin finding the end zone in the opener and he's now probably an uber weapon around here or do you want that role to go to Vaughn?

Again, they can't possibly feed four. Deuce was the odd man out in the opener until the game was well over. Someone will be the odd man out on Sunday and going forward. So pick one.

If you heard Shottenheimer, he may of answered your question. The answer looks to be both with many offensive packages kept under wraps vs. the Giants.

I'm interested in seeing what the plan is for multiple players who seem to have a backfield role, including Turpin, Vaughn, Dowdle and Luepke. I don't think we really got to see that much last week because of the way the game went.

Turpin has slightly more speed, plus he can be used both at WR and slot back. That's exactly how the Cowboys used Turpin in Game 1 at the Giants, and it worked well. Cowboys will go will giving Turpin more reps than Deuce since Turpin has more experience. With time, Deuce will get more reps. They both are two good weapons to have. Glad we have both just in case.

The team obviously has a plan. I’m going to assume they evaluated both and determined Turpin was going to get more involved.

Based on results, I don’t see any reason to second guess.

I imagine those who do had their minds made up on draft day.

I could see a sub package both are in the lineup at the same time. Turpin in the slot or in a bunch set with Lamb and Gallup with Deuce in the backfield.
I was talking about using them both throughout the game as a change of pace but I like your idea too.

Turpin is speed and Deuce is quickness. I would have different types of plays drawn up for them based on who you are playing and what your game plan is. You would not have Deuce running jet sweeps or even the end around that Turpin ran for the TD or even that quick out that they ran at the goal line for Turpin. Deuce is more of the pitchout, up the middle run, screen plays and release in the flats.

Deuce for sure. I was disappointed they didn't use him more because I already said he will win the OROTY award. And I already drank all the Kool-Aid on our team so I'm sticking with that prediction.

I'm hoping MM put that Ace in the hole back in his pocket because it was obvious after the first 5 minutes of the game we were going to win. We didn't show much because we didn't need to.

I'm thinking the same for this game too. We will win running a conservative offense behind our shutdown defense.

Two different players..limited role for both. Turpin has more experience and Duece is barely getting his feet wet. It'll take him some time, but I think he will eventually pass up Turpin.
I want to see Luepke get some reps. He isn’t a bruiser but heard he runs physically. Turpin and Deuce are the speed guys. Turpin seems an around the end guy and Deuce seems a north and south runner.

...Turpin is two steps away from breakin one.

Duece is that guy when the defense is stifling you. He's the gem to pick up 14 on crucial 3rd down.

Both have advantages, just depend where they come in.

I want to see both. Thought he should have gotten in earlier last week. I think he will as we go. Having said that after this game I wonder what the plan is for Robert Jones?

They're the exact same player on offense.

Coaching staff has clearly chosen Turpin.
