The Cowboys obviously feel better about Turpin than they do Deuce. Personally, if we’re going to keep three RBs on the 53 I would rather have Luepke than Deuce. One of our backs needs to be big and physical. I liked what I saw from him in preseason. He’s a tough inside runner who can thump and run over people. The last two times we saw Deuce he averaged 2.8 per carry in the second preseason game and 1.3 per carry last week. He’s not going earn more opportunities with that. Had he broke off a big 50 yarder last week with the opportunities he got I would feel differently and maybe the team would too. He’s not going to see the holes in the NFL that he saw in college.

As others have said Deuce’s role will grow as the season goes on. And I hope it’s because he earned it rather than Turpin fumbling it away. Regardless, he’ll be a good pro. 1.7 ypc isn’t really a good gauge when they knew we were running out the clock.

I’d like to see Luepke more too and I’m ok with Rico. He runs hard.

We've only seen one game so I'm projecting here but play along. It seemed the role we envisioned for Deuce Vaughn was given to Kavontae Turpin in the opener. He was the guy in the gadget role behind Pollard and the JAG that is Rico Dowdle.

There doesn't seem to be enough snaps to go around for the four of them so my question is this.

Would you rather keep it as it was on Sunday night since recency bias has Turpin finding the end zone in the opener and he's now probably an uber weapon around here or do you want that role to go to Vaughn?

Again, they can't possibly feed four. Deuce was the odd man out in the opener until the game was well over. Someone will be the odd man out on Sunday and going forward. So pick one.

I'm team Wonka worker myself.
I want McCarthy to turn Deuce leuce!
