Duece is rookie RB that is known for speed and undersized until he proves he can make meaningful yards between the tackles teams will let him run parallel to the LOS all day.

We've only seen one game so I'm projecting here but play along. It seemed the role we envisioned for Deuce Vaughn was given to Kavontae Turpin in the opener. He was the guy in the gadget role behind Pollard and the JAG that is Rico Dowdle.

There doesn't seem to be enough snaps to go around for the four of them so my question is this.

Would you rather keep it as it was on Sunday night since recency bias has Turpin finding the end zone in the opener and he's now probably an uber weapon around here or do you want that role to go to Vaughn?

Again, they can't possibly feed four. Deuce was the odd man out in the opener until the game was well over. Someone will be the odd man out on Sunday and going forward. So pick one.

I'm team Wonka worker myself.
mr Risen---this may be fantasy thinking but i love both those guys....and i know neither can be used as every down player....but i want to see Duece scoot

by defenders and break one....and Turpin do Turpin....but i want more packages that make the other teams defense confused or overthink stuff....i think

i am going to love this new Texas coast offense...i want both Turpin and Duece??

Deuce is a rookie. Barring injuries at RB, I could see game days soon where he is inactive. That could change later in the season.
i hope Deuce get more action then the bench...its true he is a rookie...but the rook does have some "wiggle" and can hide behind big lineman and then break out

i love both Deuce and Turpin....lets develop a lot of packages and spread them out during the season so no one gets a "bead" on us....and like Sunday night

if you look only at the stats minus the TD's you would have thought we lost maybe....but we got short field's and we did just enough....and before we knew it

it was 40-0....usually in downpour of rain dont see high scoring game....i am hoping Vikings can beat the Sheagles tonight...and i know we beat the Jets sunday

While they are both unique players, they really aren't all that comparable. You want to get Turpin behind the defense. If you do, he scores. You just need to get Deuce some space and he can pick up some quick yardage. Deuce is heavier and more compact than Turpin, too. He's actually a guy that could pick up some yards running behind some beef. Turpin is speed on top of speed.

If I'm drawing the plays up, those two guys have different roles with a little overlap.

I go a different direction. Little more Deuce. Little less Rico. Turpin is just a gadget guy in the backfield.

Unless you’re Adrian Peterson breaking 2-3 tackles at the line of scrimmage, you’re not going to show much in mop-up time when the opponent knows you’re running the ball.
Stop making so much sense. Just stop.

You honestly believe if he doesn’t make at least a few impressive plays this season, he’s a lock for the 53 next year? He averaged 1.3 yards a carry in mop up duty last week. If he would’ve broke off one long run, it would’ve maybe given the team some incentive to possibly play him ahead of Rico Dowdle against the Jets. Go go back and see why Pollard got his opportunities. Every few touches he would break off a big play. Vaughn may not even dress for a few games this season if the team decides not to keep three RBs active.

Yes. He will make some impressive plays though. There is no question about it. If the Cowboys didn't think he was capable they wouldn't have drafted and he wouldn't have make the 53.

The mop up duty last week means NOTHING. Less than zero actually. He could have lost yardage on every carry and it still would not have mattered. Backup OL, defense knew we were running out the clock and had 9 men in the box. The great Emmitt Smith wouldn't gain anything in those conditions.

He believes that your comment is nonsense because he obviously will make some plays.

Two different players..limited role for both. Turpin has more experience and Duece is barely getting his feet wet. It'll take him some time, but I think he will eventually pass up Turpin.
I think you will see them use both. It is a long season. We didn’t have to show too much against the Giants which is a good thing. We went straight vanilla in the second half. Deuce hasn’t even ran behind the first string line which is exciting to look forward to.

I’m saying he’s going to have to make some plays if he’s going to stay on the team. It does mean something when you get opportunities and don’t do anything with them, especially for a 6th round pick. It’s not like RBs are hard to find and when you’re undersized you have to prove your worth. Dowdle didn’t do much last week and Vaughan might have moved ahead of him with a big play. It was an opportunity lost.

You claimed opening day was going to make plays and score a couple of TDs. Lol I feel he’ll make some plays, the question is will they be enough to keep him on the 53 next season. You can’t just keep coming up with excuses that there were no holes. He’s got to make something happen with the few opportunities he gets. This is why Pollard is our lead back and Zeke was released.

Turpin if you’re good with losing by ten. Vaughn if losing by more than twenty is acceptable. “How would you like to come to work with me tomorrow?”
