I think the complaining about announcers and color guys is easily one of the funniest things out there. And almost every single time, it's because the homers (of any team) have selective hearing during games, apparently only picking up with the other team is praised or theirs is criticized and ignoring all the times their team is praised during the telecast.

It's funny as hell. Even worse is when it's Cowboys games with Aikman and Romo. It's like some fans think because they are former Cowboys they need to wave their Cowboys pom poms 24/7 during the game.

The problem is how he struggles to walk the fine line. Either full on blast or just call the game.
You'll catch him pausing as he decides where the line is..
And if it’s a thing where people just don’t love his style I can absolutely understand that. Personally I don’t mind the bluntness sometimes but I don’t think it’s something he just does to the cowboys which seems to be the narrative. I think he’s just a guy who isn’t afraid to speak his mind a lot of the time and it doesn’t matter if it’s a popular opinion or not.

Except he literally never tucked it. He is bobbling it the entire time. His "possession" time amounts to less than .1 seconds. That is nowhere near enough time to say he possessed the ball. That was the most obvious incomplete pass ever and people trying to argue it are just admitting they do not know the rules. That would qualify as an incomplete pass by any rule that has existed in the past 30 years.
There is no stopwatch element to the catch rule. If you can show me where in the rule it states that the receiver has to have possession of the ball for a certain number of seconds I will stand down but I know all it states is to have possession with both feet on the ground and make a move common to the game. That receiver did that. The fact that he did it "quickly" was because he knew he was about to get blasted and he was trying to get away. The rule doesn't state you have to do things in slow motion or it doesn't count.

I knew Troy disliked Jerry, but MAN!

1) Cooper Rush's INT.

CeeDee Lamb gets blasted (unintentionally) with the ball in the air, by a DB who happened to be chasing a different receiver at the time. It was an accidental collision, but still a collision.

Troy said it was perfectly legal and not a penalty!
:lmao2:

Rules experts... show me where in the rulebook it states that a DB can blast a WR with the ball in the air, SO LONG AS he was chasing a different receiver at the time.

Something tells me this "rule" has never existed and is something Troy simply made up, in order to legitimize the bogus INT he just witnessed.

2) Chase Brown's tightrope walk TD.

The call on the field was that he stepped out of bounds before scoring. I've seen the replays from every single angle. I've studied screenshots from every angle.

There is NO UNIVERSE in which there was anything conclusive to overturn the call on the field. It was insanely close.

Troy, Joe Buck and the "rules expert" then collectively decided to lie to the nation and pretend it was OBVIOUSLY a TD and certainly conclusive!
:lmao2:

Naturally, the refs agreed and gave Cincy the TD. Complete and utter horse****.
Sad to see a so called Cowboys fan dissing on a legend just to do some Jones jock sniffing but hey, we expect this from your ilk

I generally completely disregard the announcers except when there is a clear penalty that is either called or uncalled and they bend over backwards to try and justify it. That part really annoys me. Troy is usually pretty good about saying "I think they got that one wrong.." for which I respect him. But he has occasionally been guilty of "covering" for the refs too. They all do it. They meet with the refs before the games... Get to know them.. hang out with the "rules expert" who is sometimes in the booth with them. They're human.. I get it.. I just don't like it.

Aikman is a tool as an announcer.
He doesn't hide his hatred of jerruh very well.
Always seems to show he has an agenda against the very organization that made him what he is.

Aikman disliking Jerry’s decisions is one of the best things about Aikman.

Sad to see a grown man like you who's soft as a baby's bottom, standing up for a legend against someone saying they lied on a broadcast.... as if that legend is even 0.00001% as soft as they are.

Troy's one of my 3 favorite Cowboys ever (Triplets) and I have his framed jersey on my wall.

You're clueless as usual, but now I also know that you were shoved into lockers as a youth. Learn something new every day.

The networks/platforms that have deals to broadcast NFL games have a financial interest in the popularity of NFL football. Their employees are not going to speak ill or be critical of the NFL. The men and women calling games have their careers to be concerned about.

Presentation of the games is not the time to editorialize.

I agreed with 1st paragraph 100%

The 2nd? I think that's part of their job. You got the play by play and the color commentators.

Keep crying! Hahahahaha This team has more issues with Dak than with the refs.

I can’t believe some fans are wrapped up emotionally in a meaningless game in DECEMBER. The season is OVER. Has been over since the clock went 0:00 at GB. The lack of investment in the team, the greed, the bad contracts, the misplaced nostalgia for Zeke…*** are you lemmings gnashing your teeth about? C’mon…
