If we fail to make the playoffs again, I would expect that there would be some accountability. Why would Parcells not be subject to that?

3 years is plenty to turn around a franchise in this day and age.

Regardless..... a couple more called games like Seattle and Parcells may not make it till the end of the year.

There is no way that Parcell's gets fired before the end of the season even if the Cowboys lose out. No way. Who is going to be the interim coach ? Exactly.

Mike Zimmer would be the next in line I would imagine.

For the record, I wouldnt think he'd be axed before seasons end but I do fully expect him to be fired or resign if we dont make the post season.

Zimmer as the interim would bring chaos to this board. I sure hope that doesnt happen.

I would even be surprised if Jones fired him ever. It would have to take a complete meltdown, Parcells teams arent known for that.

As far as Parcells resigning ? Thats another story.

The only way i see Parcells leavin Dallas, is only if HE decides to leave. I truly do not see a way Jones fires him.

There is a reason Larry Coker is given little credit despite winning a national championship. For one thing, he isn't responsible for rebuilding the Miami program, that honor goes to Butch Davis. Second, he has arguably the most athletic recruiting class each year and he still has little to show for that despite that talent base. Third, his teams have lost due to a lack of discipline on and off the field; qualities that are attributable to a lack of leadership and coaching.

Pete Caroll has already failed in the NFL. The idea of Pete Caroll as head coach works at USC but a lot of his success is due to Norm Chow and the offense he established.

The best type of NFL coaches are disciplinarians who can exume a sense of leadership from the beginning. In the NFL, it's much more about leadership and instilling discipline on the field as opposed to being a creative playcaller or the designer of an innovate scheme. Neither Coker nor Carrol display those qualities.

Did it anger you when you were midseason last year and Gibbs was failing, and people called for his head.

Terps, give me your honest oppinion, if Dallas is sitting at 5-3, is there really reason to sack Parcells? Did he anticipate village idiot to miss that kick?

Im asking, cuz i respect your oppinion, and sadly, as of recent, probably more than some of the people on this board

Regardless, I think true criticisms or praise of a head coach have to be reserved until the end of the season. Yes, Gibbs did a poor job last season. His 3 Superbowls doesn't change that fact. And there is still a half season remaining so we won't know the final fate of the Commanders until then. It wouldn't suprise me if the Commanders imploded.
