Two Telling Stats About Dak

Since the start of the 22 season, even missing five games, he has the most picks in the NFL. On top of that he is 25th in the league in yards per attempt.

That means the coaching staff continues to dumb down the offense giving him high percentage pass attempts and he's still been a turnover machine.

Here is what's really puzzling, Pollard only had eight rushing attempts against the niners. Granted we were playing from behind but I just don't get this offense at all, you have a struggling QB and you totally abandon the run. If the team is committed to Dak longer than this season then there is literally no need to have a receiver like Lamb, trade the guy, save the salary and stock up on some picks. His talents are completely wasted in this offense and with this QB. McCarthy is losing the team, Dak is losing the team and it shows.

There is no easy way out of this current mess but to deny it's a mess only prolongs the climb out of it.

Defenses are filled with smaller and faster players these days. They know we aren't going deep so they can all creep up towards the line. They are stopping the shorter passes and makes it easier to stop the run.

The game is different from when the WCO was first invented. There's a reason teams aren't running it.

Imo,if he continues doing his usual stupid stuff and the game is still winnable,id hope MM would pull him and put in Rush...we need this game and I don't care and neither should the coaches if daks feelings get hurt...do what's best for the team.

The way out is Washington twice the Giant’s once more and Carolina bragging is right around the corner. By thanksgiving MM will have the rest of the offense installed, please remember it’s a process and MM is working 24 7 to improve it.

I dont even see that we use a WCO.

And furthermore i cant understand how you want to implement that kind of offense with that QB we have.

That offense is demanding a very accurate QB. And one who can make tight throws. Sometimes he has to make even blind throws because its so timing based.

And a QB that cant pass under center is also a no go for that kind of offense imo.

Being ranked 25th he was probably 20th, this season got him down lower on the list with all these 5 yard passes! Have you seen our run plays, they go for nothing, it's been that way for years especially with zeke, pollard got lucky in his previous years. The offensive run scheme needs a COMPLETE overhaul!!

everyone is fast, then we have a slow QB that tries to take off and run, and he's been chased down by DL guys that are heavier than him, but are quick!

Year 8 and more than 100+ starts.

Yet, he’s regressing.

Folks don’t hold your breath waiting for a miraculous turnaround. He’s gonna have some games where he puts up big numbers but I would wager good money that our season ends with him playing a big role in it.

Yea MMs was so outdated he had no choice. It’s laughable that 5 games in either your player’s are not smart enough to learn or the OC is one of the dumbest football guys around, take your choice. I can’t imagine any other GM accepting this with a veteran team. It’s really sad this is the state of the franchise. Last year it was MM doesn’t know the terminology, makes one wonder what he does know.

Actually, quite a few teams still use the WCO. The 49’ers, Rams, Chiefs, Dolphins are a few of the teams that still adhere to its principles. The difference is simply those coaches know how to adapt to modern times - the 4 teams I just listed are the Top 4 teams in terms of using pre-snap motion. I don’t think people understand just how important moving guys BEFORE the snap HELPS an offense…and can confuse the D. Notice how Dallas only TD last week came when the WR went in motion before the snap creating a natural advantage against the defend? Makes it easier for the receiver to beat the press…

Exactly! The success Offenses in the modern NFL are coming from that Shanahan tree: McVay, Taylor, Shanahan and McDaniel. Andy is still doing his thing, so it seems McCarthy isn't up with the times.

The 49ers weren’t going to let us run the ball so we had to make plays in the passing game to have a chance. Our defense couldn’t stop them putting us in a hole right off the bat on the 49ers first drive. Once we got down by multiple scores Dak started forcing balls down the field in hopes of making a play. You can’t just force the run if it’s not there. The 49ers defense put the game on Dak.
