Two Telling Stats About Dak

Three telling stats:

1) Prior to last weekend he was 18th vs zone defenses. Probably in the 20s now.

2) QBR when trailing 63.

3) 18 and 27 career vs playoff teams

But hey, unnamed league execs say he is top 10. I believe those unnamed execs go by the code names Jerry, Stevie, Charlotte and Spaulding.

Go ahead, tell me how they go about moving on from Dak with his current contract. I'm all for it. I just don't see an easy way out.
You don'tby extend him and cut him as a pre-June 1st cut and it costs you an additional $2.4 million but you are out of dead money and free and clear from him in 2025. Cut him next year with a June 1st designation and you actually save $34 million next year in cap space (but spreads dead money into 2025 as well).

Not advocating for one or the other, just answering your question. It is not impossible. Though personally I am about ready for it.

I'm enjoying reading all of the nonstop whining. Never seen a group of grown men whine so much. How do your wives/girlfriends put up with y'all? Sheesh. Very entertaining though. lol

Actually, quite a few teams still use the WCO. The 49’ers, Rams, Chiefs, Dolphins are a few of the teams that still adhere to its principles. The difference is simply those coaches know how to adapt to modern times - the 4 teams I just listed are the Top 4 teams in terms of using pre-snap motion. I don’t think people understand just how important moving guys BEFORE the snap HELPS an offense…and can confuse the D. Notice how Dallas only TD last week came when the WR went in motion before the snap creating a natural advantage against the defend? Makes it easier for the receiver to beat the press…
Motion worked because they were playing man. And they got the play call right. Dak was going to Turpin from the get go. If they were playing zone, what’s it going to do when the players sit in their sins. Too many moving parts for Dak to handle to much motion.

There's always a way.

If Jerry wants him gone he will be gone.
I'm not saying there isn't a way. There is always a way. I'm asking, and based on his contract, what is the way? Zeke was released when it was financially prudent to do so. Not before then. Can you tell me when that is possible with Dak. Because I don't see it. It will not be as easy as releasing Zeke. Dak's contract, and everything they've done with his contract is meant to extend, not release. There's no easy way out.

Yes. The easiest way is to cut him after this season as a June 1st cut. And those are some pretty big cap hits for the next two years. You can't cut him after next season because they'd have to play the season with Dak at a 60M cap hit.

Other teams have cut a QB with cap hits that big and done just fine. Philadelphia with Wentz and Los Angeles with Jared Goff are two recents off the top of my head. On top of that we have two other QBs already under contract (with possibly a rookie to compete with them) so its not like you would release him without the cost of the position mostly under contract and accounted for next year already. So, if that is the route they wish to go l that should not be a reason no to.

If they wanted to roll with Lance next year I am all for the attempt. The problem for the last 15 years is that this team is too mediocre (year after year) for high draft picks to rebuild, but not good enough to advance through the playoffs. If you aren't going to advance forward at some point you need to hit the bottom to rebuild.

Edit: don't take my last paragraph above as me wishing for them to lose. I do not. But at some point something new has to happen to propel it forward. If that is falling back a step or two, so be it (IMO of course).

Here is what's really puzzling, Pollard only had eight rushing attempts against the niners
A lot of the reason the rushing attempts were down is because they weren’t converting on third down 3 and outs killed the first half interceptions killed the second

I dont even see that we use a WCO.

And furthermore i cant understand how you want to implement that kind of offense with that QB we have.

That offense is demanding a very accurate QB. And one who can make tight throws. Sometimes he has to make even blind throws because its so timing based.

And a QB that cant pass under center is also a no go for that kind of offense imo.

Unnamed in this case is the execs, scouts, and coaches for ALL 32 teams taken as an average. Then again you think wins are a QB stat and there is nothing more low football IQ than that.

It really has a lot to do with dumb play calling.

Running double slants on the short hash?

Since the start of the 22 season, even missing five games, he has the most picks in the NFL. On top of that he is 25th in the league in yards per attempt.

That means the coaching staff continues to dumb down the offense giving him high percentage pass attempts and he's still been a turnover machine.

Here is what's really puzzling, Pollard only had eight rushing attempts against the niners. Granted we were playing from behind but I just don't get this offense at all, you have a struggling QB and you totally abandon the run. If the team is committed to Dak longer than this season then there is literally no need to have a receiver like Lamb, trade the guy, save the salary and stock up on some picks. His talents are completely wasted in this offense and with this QB. McCarthy is losing the team, Dak is losing the team and it shows.

There is no easy way out of this current mess but to deny it's a mess only prolongs the climb out of it.
The way I see it . . . if we're going to continue to dink and dunk, we should play Cooper Rush..

At what point does the question gets asked as to why offenses need to be dumbed down? Would have thought that said question should have been asked and answered before handing out a 40 mil a year contract for a dude.
