Two Telling Stats About Dak

Dak isn't a top 8 QB, but he's probably somewhere not far from there (maybe 10th, 14th...something like that). McCarthy/Schott are no answer and would rank even lower in my book.

The Dak rage has a life of its own here and it's a psunami, so I'm sure my post will be ignored. I've no interest in debating it.

The dak protection and excuses also have a life....and odd that debating it is exactly what you are doing.

Let's be real. Dak at his best looks like a top five, elite quarterback. Dak at his worst looks like a blindfolded Jay Cutler.

This year he's been squarely in the middle of that. At some point even Dak fans like myself all need to admit he is what he is and at this point in his career won't get any better.

This doesn't mean the Cowboys can't win with him anymore, that's an overreaction to the 49ers game. But unless the coaching and the offensive scheme improves, matters will get worse before they get better.

The pendulum swing is the problem. Stat people and super fans will use it yo show his prowess. But it ignores the bad part.

If he'd play more consistently average we'd be a better team. He's too far off the mean.

You're right but Dak is really a hard case to crack. If he was the 49ers' QB this year I think their record is still the same because of the supporting cast, the coaching, and the superior scheme. Dak has the benefit of none of that.

However, I will also admit Dak is not a QB that can elevate a struggling team. He goes as the rest of the team goes. This is why we have so much Dak debates here on this forum. Because every time the Cowboys lose there is always enough evidence to not put it all on Dak yet there is enough reason to blame him too.

And the reason is simple- he just goes as the team goes. If everything is running smoothly Dak looks great. Once things go south he becomes part of the problem and not part of the solution. And I am a Dak fan saying this.

No question Dak needs to be better but I am still on the hill that McCarthy has ruined this offense.

Since the start of the 22 season, even missing five games, he has the most picks in the NFL. On top of that he is 25th in the league in yards per attempt.

That means the coaching staff continues to dumb down the offense giving him high percentage pass attempts and he's still been a turnover machine.

Here is what's really puzzling, Pollard only had eight rushing attempts against the niners. Granted we were playing from behind but I just don't get this offense at all, you have a struggling QB and you totally abandon the run. If the team is committed to Dak longer than this season then there is literally no need to have a receiver like Lamb, trade the guy, save the salary and stock up on some picks. His talents are completely wasted in this offense and with this QB. McCarthy is losing the team, Dak is losing the team and it shows.

There is no easy way out of this current mess but to deny it's a mess only prolongs the climb out of it.

Their game plan was to stop the run and dare Dallas to pass because they know we suck at that. Dallas tried to take what the defense was giving them but again, we suck at that.

Unnamed in this case is the execs, scouts, and coaches for ALL 32 teams taken as an average. Then again you think wins are a QB stat and there is nothing more low football IQ than that.

I maybe misreading this but are you defending Dak? Maybe one of the 42 votes?

There is something lower football IQ than that - thinking that wins aren't a QB stat when the game is designed and built that way as the QB is by far the most important position on an NFL team.

You don't win in this league very often without a great QB.

He can't throw downfield. They call what he can do.

It was no different last year with Moore against legit teams.

I believe you to be right. It would be interesting to put the numbers down....just going by my recall. We seem to lose big games against good teams....I mean last week was supposed to be our coming out party...we'll really git 'em THIS time. Not a playoff game but a big prime time matchup of titan rivalries.

"We" stunk it up....and dak had nothing to help lift us out. After 8 years it remains to be seen if has it in in him.

Most people know I do put the asterisk in the 2022 Bucs playoff game. Of course a big game...but against a bad/loser team. When it's both....and maybe a couple times or so...I'll give dak the credit he earns on it.
