Yep, most of last season they were top 5. Gotta agree with you on them being top 3. If the team can generate more turnovers they will be the # 1 defense in the NFL. I love the progress the team has made over the past 5 seasons. "I love it when a plan comes together"

The defense should be better. It's not as though we lost a ton of guys - the Quinn thing is disappointing, but that's it. The expectation should be that they go from top 10 to top 5 this year. If they don't, it's disappointing. I am still worried about the secondary though, not a believer in our safeties or Awuzie. We'll see.

I think they are definitely better then last year based on maturation and swagger. And the secondary seem better with another year with Richard.

But make no mistake................this defense will depend on Lawrence, Quinn, Jones and how much they come back healthy and at the top level.

These backups like Taco, Armstrong, Hill arent going to make much of a difference this year.

Where is the progress in the playoffs? You say 5 years? That includes 2 putrid performances against Rodgers and then flat out embarrassed to the Rams run game. I don't see any progress. It's the same stuff. They play good for a little stretch and revert right back to their true selves, which is below average. They were terrible the final quarter of last season.

It's always "Watch and see" with this defense. They never actually carry their weight when needed.

The youngest starting defense team in the league. Can only get better. The experience was priceless making the playoffs last season

They have the talent, but they also have Marinelli who seems to have terrible defensive game plans for these big games and he does very little when in comes to in-game adjustments.
