Because those little guys can't block, and Dallas wants to be run-friendly on most every down. Same as the 49ers philosophy.

I think Hilton is a 3rd down guy. When you really wan to throw, you play Hilton. When it's run/pass, you want Brown.

Taking Gallup off the field could be an interesting look. Keep the blocking of Brown, but get Hilton's speed wide.

f you think the Cowboys want to be a running team you must watching very closely. They SHOULD be a running team but in most games they are not.

Most games ?.. Really ? ..what were the games were we Not trying to run the football ..?

They’re the two fastest receivers other than Turpin on the team. They have the speed to scare defenses and open it up fir lamb. I’d live to know why this team refuses to use fast receivers.

I honestly forgot about Calloway. Man I was really high on him coming out of college. (no pun intended)

We’ll see how long Hilton stays healthy.

I forgot they signed Calloway. Ton of talent. His limitations were between the ears. That would be a steal if he has his shh together.

If Calloway was that talented and his speed game was that needed, ..i wonder what could have been stalled any chance of an appearance by Calloway, to the active roster ?

DId Hilton's immediate resigning put a halt to that ?

Depending upon Calloway's work ethic and familarity with the Cowboys offense, i think i would have chanced placing Washington to the Practice Squad, .while allevating
Calloway to the game day active roster.

I never said they were "not trying to run the football." I said they don't want to be a running team.

Against the Packers and the Jags they had double digit leads but did not continue to run the ball in either game to the extent they should have. All they had to do in either one of those games would have been to run the ball late to eat up the clock and/or the opponent's timeouts and they win the game in regulation. Running the ball is about more than just the number of times you run it.. it's when and how you run it. That's the part Moore struggles with. He's out there calling throwaway runs seemingly just to placate his critics. How else do you explain his stubborn insistence on continuing to call that delay handoff where we don't block the backside end. That play has to have been blown up in the backfield at least 80% of the times we call it. It should have been ripped out of the playbook long ago. But because Pollard or Zeke are able to fight off that unblocked defender sometimes and make it into a successful play just often enough we keep calling it. To me that play illustrates how little regard Moore has for the running game. He doesn't care if it gains any yardage because if he did he would change the blocking scheme to give the guys a chance. As it stands he just uses it as a place holder and clearly doesn't much care if it has any success as long he can make it looks like he's calling running plays and when they inevitably fail he can get back to chuckin it.

But it does, Hill, Jefferson, Chase, Olave,Kirk, Barkley, Adams, Pollard, Wilson, Lockett, …

There are more receivers who are successful that has speed than the ones that don’t.
Jerry Rice would disagree lol
Being fast is a benefit no doubt but not the most important

Let's not get it twisted about Jerry Rice's speed. He ran a poor 40 coming out of college.. However nobody ever actually thought he was slow. He just didn't get off the line very quickly but once he got up to speed Rice could burn with the best of them. He was a long strider.. I always likened him to a great 400 meter man as opposed to a 100 meter guy. Great long speed, so so short area burst.

I don't know what to think about Calloway.. Dude was a terror in college while playing with some pretty pedestrian QBs at Florida. He did display the speed to get behind even the best SEC defenses.. I think he had a couple of coast to coasters against Bama in his career.. Dude can fly.. but there is no accounting for what's between a guy's ears. Hopefully he figures it out sooner than later. An NFL career is a terrible opportunity to waste.

I'm late here but let's also not act like Lamb and Gallup are "slow". No, they aren't true burners like a Tyreek Hill but the narrative that they are just intermediate possession receivers is false. They can get downfield and get there in a hurry.

Terry Glenn retired at the age of 33. TY Hiltin is 33.
Terry Glenn had a destroyed knee his last season and played one game. He retired because of that knee. The year before he put up a 1,000 yards. Dude could flat out fly when young and had really good hands..

And when he was in his 30s

You're kidding right? In his last two seasons with Dallas at age 31 and 32 this was Glenn's stat line:

62 catches 1136 yards and 7 TDs
70 catches 1047 yards and 6 TDs. (14 games)

People need to get off this tendency to minimize guys because YOU don't remember how good they were. Look it up.. The data is readily available. I remember how great Terry Glenn was before he wrecked his knee. Folks need to put some respect on that man's name.

I remember the number of plays Glenn made for this team. Then he had that microfracture knee thing in 2007, came back for the playoffs, and he just couldn't be the player he was before that. It's a shame because he could fly and would catch every single football he could touch.

Yeah because of his speed Glenn's hands were vastly underrated most of his career. He was a very reliable speed receiver which is a rarity. I thought the Cowboys were dumb to activate him just before the playoffs that year after him being on the shelf the entire season. It took the Giants DBs about 5 snaps to realize that he didn't have his usual burst and neither did T.O. coming off that high ankle. Couple that with switching up the RB rotation just before that game and you had a whole passel o stupid decisions by the coaching staff that game.

Being fast doesn't necessarily equate to being good.
Only a dumb person assumes I’m saying that. If yiu rub 4.5, yiu have to run you’d routes to get deep. When you have speed, yiu can beat sone guys with just speed.
