I remember the number of plays Glenn made for this team. Then he had that microfracture knee thing in 2007, came back for the playoffs, and he just couldn't be the player he was before that. It's a shame because he could fly and would catch every single football he could touch.
He was Odell before Odell.

Only a dumb person assumes I’m saying that. If yiu rub 4.5, yiu have to run you’d routes to get deep. When you have speed, yiu can beat sone guys with just speed.
When you say (and I'm translating this into English) you don't understand why the team refuses to use the fastest receivers on the team, yet you haven't seen them play, you clearly think it doesn't matter how well they run routes, adjust to and catch the ball, or pay attention to the other details a good WR has to. Your only concern is speed.

Being fast doesn't necessarily equate to being good.

We have a 4th/5th being our number 2 right now, I don't believe it can be anyworse. If they drop the ball so be it, but not every catch should be getting hit as the ball is hitting the receiver, it's a real issue.

I don't think most of those hits are by the guy running with the receiver. I think most of the deflections are in zone coverage. I could be mistaken.

And there is most likely a reason that Hilton was sitting on the NFL sidelines as the season is winding down. A clue might be to use the very example you provided in a prior post, Terry Glenn, who had retired from football at Hilton's present age.

Last season, three WR's aged 33 or over caught a minimum 25 receptions. Two of them are out of football this season, Antonio Brown and Emmanual Sanders. The other, A.J. Green, has a total of 19 catches for this season.

I'm saying that it is a little too optimistic to look at Hilton today and expect an impactful contribution.

I didn't bring up Glenn, you're thinking of someone else.

As for why he hasn't been playing, the only thing I've heard is that he wanted to wait until his kid's football season was over. I have no idea as to the veracity of that claim, but I have to think that if he wanted to play, he would've signed with someone.

I never said they were "not trying to run the football." I said they don't want to be a running team.
Against the Packers and the Jags they had double digit leads but did not continue to run the ball in either game to the extent they should have. All they had to do in either one of those games would have been to run the ball late to eat up the clock and/or the opponent's timeouts and they win the game in regulation.

Running the ball is about more than just the number of times you run it.. it's when and how you run it.
That's the part Moore struggles with. He's out there calling throwaway runs seemingly just to placate his critics.

How else do you explain his stubborn insistence on continuing to call that delay handoff where we don't block the backside end. That play has to have been blown up in the backfield at least 80% of the times we call it. It should have been ripped out of the playbook long ago.

But because Pollard or Zeke are able to fight off that unblocked defender sometimes and make it into a successful play just often enough we keep calling it. To me that play illustrates how little regard Moore has for the running game.
He doesn't care if it gains any yardage because if he did he would change the blocking scheme to give the guys a chance.

As it stands he just uses it as a place holder and clearly doesn't much care if it has any success as long he can make it looks like he's calling running plays and when they inevitably fail he can get back to chuckin it.

This link and note below is probably will be closer to what you're best referring to with Kellen Moore and run game .... right ? ;)

https://www.bloggingtheboys.com/202...re-consistency-offensive-coordinator-playoffs

Cowboys need “Moore” consistency from their offensive coordinator going forward
Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore continues to be the weakest link in the Dallas coaching staff.

" The most concerning aspect to Moore’s offensive game plan is.. well, the lack of one. There never seems to be consistency in his play-calling throughout a full game. It seems as if Moore never sticks with what is working in a game. The 2022 Dallas Cowboys have blown two games this season where they led by two possessions, the Green Bay Packers game in Week 10 (led by 14), and the Jacksonville Jaguars game in Week 15 (led by 17).

There is no question that the strength of this Cowboys offense is their dynamic running game which features long-time starter, Ezekiel Elliott, and 2023 Pro Bowler, Tony Pollard. However, when the Cowboys tend to get a big lead, for some unknown reason Moore likes to abandon the run game and rely on the passing game. "

Yeah because of his speed Glenn's hands were vastly underrated most of his career. He was a very reliable speed receiver which is a rarity. I thought the Cowboys were dumb to activate him just before the playoffs that year after him being on the shelf the entire season. It took the Giants DBs about 5 snaps to realize that he didn't have his usual burst and neither did T.O. coming off that high ankle. Couple that with switching up the RB rotation just before that game and you had a whole passel o stupid decisions by the coaching staff that game.

Playoff stakes time .. all cards go on the table .. i had no problem with throwing out something opponents never seen - prepared before
Early with a MB3 start, we were actually hurting Giants with the run game ...
and we had 100 yards rushing in first half ... so it was working .

- Problem was we had mammoth OL that were just not conditioned well, (Gurode, Leonard Davis, Flozell Adams) and they ran out of gas,,, and Marion Barber 3 also ran out of gas, and it didn't help matters that Julius Jones was average instincts and ran up the back of OLinemen.

- Glenn was our 2nd best WR opposite TO, ..and we want him on the sideline if he was able to play ?
If he is even 80%, .. it's the playoffs.. win now or die at home, don't you have to come with your guns as fully loaded as possible.?

- i don't fret that as much as it was just the Giants breakout moment that year - they downed us ..and went on to upset record breaking Brady-Bill and Pats.
What about the yonder years later ..?
