Tyler Guyton keeps developing

One of my greatest disappointments is not seeing deserving players with at least one Super Bowl ring. One of those guys is Zack Martin. I'm pretty sure this is his last season.

Real contenders don't have a starting LT that is designated "developing". No real GM or HC would permit their franchise quarterback's blind spot to be manned by a rookie that is perceived to be "raw".

Even when Tyron Smith, the 9th overall pick in the draft joined the team as a rookie, he spent that first season as the RT. Doug Free occupied LT. The following season, they switched.

Even Jason Garrett realized that you don't risk the health of your highest paid player to an inexperienced rookie, no matter the future potential.

What really should have happened was Tyler Smith at LT, Guyton at RT (his natural position), and that intelligent acquisition during veteran free agency at LG. Alas....

Hard to feel too bad for these guys though when they have every chance to leave and go to a contender and go here because of money. Zack Martin could’ve had his choice of any team in the league he wanted to play for and he stayed here.

The team seems fixated to have Tyler Smith play guard . That being said every game Guyton plays at LT gets him more and more experience . Have these TE’s help out chip block the FB as well when he plays . I’m not as down as others having your # 1 pick a mammoth tackle take over at LT, sooner the better .

He gets a full off season in the weight room and training/practicing and he will be so much better next year.

Considering he’s a rookie playing a position he hasn’t played, that just hsppens to be one of the hardest to play, he’s doing about as expected. The best result is use an early pick on a true LT, move him to RT, move on from Steele and whole oline is on rookie deals

And Beebe will prove to be an extreme upgrade . These 2 ( Guyton ) are rookies my goodness
If you think about it they’ve played better than you could expect. A rookie center who’s never played center. A LT who’s never played LT. Struggles had to be expected. Expecting them to be about avg would have been a crazy thought. Beebe had never even snapped a football

He is a rookie who faced the best pass rushers in the NFL his first 5 or so games in the league.

You can see his improvement on tape, but he still has some technique issues that need to be addressed.

He got some reps against some of the best guys, but really teams were putting their top rushers against Steele a heavy majority of the time.

I'd actually argue that RT is becoming the more difficult position....at least for passing downs. Teams seem to be putting their top pass rusher on that side for passing downs a lot more often than they used to.

You have a good point . Rather than have your top edge bang heads with a teams best tackle on the left go ahead attack right tackle . Bosa in the Niners game went right around Steele . I just think if you want a dominating OL it has to be across the board . RT isn’t there yet .

Hard to understand this kind of mentality
loyalty to a team is clearly a thing of the past for some
What really is wrong with fans that do not understand that?
Zack probably could have gotten even more if he had decided to go after his rookie contract expired; or even later. I guess he fell for the Jethro BS.

YOU forget one thing: the vast majority of QBs are right handed and thus they can see someone coming from the right. THE LT protects the QBs back.

I believe in being loyal to myself before an employer.

It does you seen to need two stout tackles. A lot of the good teams have them.

I really like this pick and Beebe . Total upgrade of the line . Now a new position coach plus a season of workouts need to see a jump in improvement next season .

I’m not sold on Steele I think Dallas needs to look at Richards some as they fall further out of contention .
I don’t see why they haven’t benched Steele….dude is freakin garbage. Richard’s can’t be worse. The decision making on this team is so stupid.

Agree 100 %. . Same thing at safety . Hooker & Wilson need to be benched for younger players to see if they can contribute to winning here in the future .

Hopefully he develops into a perennial all pro on the line but it's been a rough go so far especially considering the state of the rest of the team
