9x pro-bowler , dont matter if he is 40 ., his work ethic must be alarming .

Even if he doesn't play a snap (assuming that is because Smith and McGovern have it handled), he's worth whatever we are paying him. Having him in the young OL's ears along with Zack is huge. They will learn so much.

Not saying that Tyron isn't a mentor but he's really not someone who talks much.

Oh it is, and he planned on signing with someone because the big man is in SHAPE IMO...not football shape yet mind you, but he's kept himself up. I look for him to play by week 3

Peters obviously knows how to prepare himself. Going into his 19th season. He'll be ready soon.

He's a rare player ... if he didn't love the game, he wouldn't have played for peanuts last year in Chicago. Could have ridden off into the sunset an Eagles legend. Gotta respect that fire. Dude has earned over 100 mill in his career. He's here on a nothing deal. That's impressive.

Nice post...it IS impressive and the Cowboys 'fans' on this board that don't acknowledge that and disrespect this guy really don't deserve him. That's the bad news, the good news is the rest of us good fans DO deserve him.

Peters is so technique sound and savvy that 1 week of practice may be enough to show that he's the most effective LT on the team.

Peters will be the Jedi to Tyler as Padawan. Peters just doesnt have a wealth of wisdom in his 15 year HOF worthy career but he's already successfully and unselfishly passed down his knowledge to young OL.

Tyron Smith just had surgery and will be focusing on rehab. He's not going to be on the practice field with Tyler and Peters.
I understand but I was thinking off the field , like in film room and maybe meetings.

Yeah, when you’re injured in football, you’re just not around the guys who are playing very much. Players talk about how hard it is to suddenly not be part of anything while they’re rehabbing. They aren’t in meetings and aren’t part of practice. It gets lonely for them.

I mean I’m sure Tyron will see Tyler some around the Star… but he won’t have a lot of chances to mentor Tyler this season.

They can activate 2 practice squad players for the game.

Non-active ps players are on the sidelines for home games. They don't take them on the road due to lack of space on the plane.
Except they’ll be using those promotions for Rush and Maher, leaving no room for any others (unless I missed something about one or both of them getting moved back to the active roster).

Do you understand sports and football, and what his years of experience he can teach a young player. Even in 15 minutes.
Or do you just want to be negative.
Yes I remember when same was said about Qwitten teaching Rico. Amazing things happened……also what’s the difference between him and Tyron? Tyron must have been a bad influence.

Cant Tyron give advice while injured? He’s still getting paid.

Yes, he can but some players are wired differently. It appears Peters is a natural leader in that way. He enjoys helping and passing his experience and knowledge to younger players. Former Falcon DT Gerald McCoy was that way, taking Tristen Hill under his wings ( they also worked out together this summer ).

Tyron will be doing rehab, that is the most glaring difference currently. He can't "mentor" from the trainers table, off site. Lol

Yes, peters talking to Tyler for 15 min will make him all pro. So stupid, guy either has it and wants it or doesn’t it’s that simple. Doesn’t matter who speaks to him or teaches him, it’s on the individual.
While it is true this pic and caption is a little bit premature as far as "tips and tricks" for all we know they were discussing the New Fried Mozzrrella Burger added to the Game Day Menu . . . But They will have a whole season to chat . . . which will be an added benefit in Tyler's developement

Its as if Jerry hired another Hall of Fame Tutor

OBVIOUSLY

with Peters' previous teammate, Jordan Mailata, giving him so much praise as a mentor, this is clearly a win-win

https://www.si.com/nfl/eagles/news/...ason-peters-even-if-he-signs-with-the-cowboys
This is great news for Tyler . . He is intelligent and will soak it all in . . . Cowboys are blessed to have Peters . . . This will help all the young Pups that play Tackle . . . because as the article says Peters will need routine rest during games . . . so the Other guys will get a lot of Reps and Peters will be there helping them as well

That s a Win . . . Win . . . Win situation. . . If Peters is able to affect a 7th Rd pick with no Football experience . . . Imagine what He can do with Ball & Waletzko . . . 2 very talented Young Tackles

I believe this is the best case scenario for the Organization as a whole . . . And Peters influence may be felt around here for the next 10-12 years or more

Great post
