Typical showing from this team when opportunity comes knocking.

This is the mental barrier this team needs to learn to overcome in order to get to the promise land. After years and years of mediocrity the organization culture of winning and being on the top almost totally gone.

The other option is if this team can find a Charles Haley guy. Someone whose been there and with strong character to pull this group past this obstacle.

They did show signs of getting there, but not consistent yet. for some reason this team looks scared in most big moments and until they learn how to handle it people will not trust them….I think next season with (hopefully) fully healthy Romo and defensive strengthening this team will grow much stronger mentally…

As of right now, we have more conference losses than both Detroit and Seattle. If all three of us ended up with the same record, conference records would decide who goes home.

Depends on if there's a three way tiebreaker with us, Seattle, and Detroit.

That would be true if there was only 1 WC on the line, but if we are saying SF is out of it, there will be 2. Most likely (not definitively but like a 95% chance) there will be a split between us and Seattle at some point in time.

I was hoping for a Cows win but not surprised they didn't. What is disconcerting is the way Philly just dominated from start to finish. As another poster stated, the defense appears to have finally shot its load. This team's downfall will be the Defense & coaching. If the O isn't firing on all cylinders from the get go, the game can get out of hand quickly, which is what we saw last week & today.
The good teams turn it up a notch in December and then another tick come playoff time. I don't think this team has the defensive personnel or coaching to do that....

If there are three teams (us, Detroit, and Seattle) with identical records and vying for two wildcard spots, the tiebreaker would decide it and we would lose out based on the worst conference record. This has already been discussed on another thread. The bottom line is we'd better not finish tied with both Detroit and Seattle.

The problem now is Seattle would win the 3 way tie, and then Detriot would win the remaining 2 way tie... so yea... that is a problem. Still though I think it is unlikely that this happens.

Truely limp, pitiful, no fight useless ! A play that opitized this inept performance - when Romo threw the intercept to Williams. Not sure if wrong route, or just bad pass behind the receiver. But he just stood there and did nothing ! Touched the player who intercepted the ball, then got blasted by the eagle trailing the play. Almost like he, and the team just don't care... Let the eagles talk **** a week, then lay down and take it like it's no big deal. Did anyone see a Dallas player lay any eagle player out? A few times I was yelling at the TV - hit someone ! Act like you care !
Yet again, big stage, division leading game - and same as years past nothing.

Let's move on to Chicago and put this game behind, take care of business next Thursday and then we'll deal with Philadelphia again

The L today was disappointing-- no doubt about that.

BUT-- just remember that Dallas was coming off an emotionally draining win on Sun night, and had a short week to get ready for the highest temp offense in the NFL. The set up certainly favored Philly.

We'll get 10 days to prepare for Philly after the Chicago game. Should be interesting to see what kind of performance we see in 2 weeks.

We have everything in front of us. We win the next 2 games, and at worst-- we're in a first place tie for the division lead with 2 weeks to play.

We got our *** kicked. It happens. The Niners are too, KC got beat by Oakland, Seattle got beat by the Rams.

If we lose the next 3 out of 4 then I think you can say "here we go again." But as much as it is an emotional response right now the team has earned the benefit of the doubt so far. If you think they are this bad - they're not. They looked tired and got steamrolled early.

Let it play out. Anything can happen - both good and bad, but at least let it happen. Nothing's changed yet, the season is still ahead of us.

If we lose the next 3 of 4 you will be in here so fast telling us that 9-7 means "the process" is working

Good teams start peaking this time of year. They got out coached, out hit, and out desired. Oh and the defense is what we thought it was. When the opponent rushes for 5.7 yards per carry you will lose a lot of football games.

This team is mediocre like its HC and folds when the big moment arrives

all on garrett, every time they showed him he was just standing there like an idiot

what does he even do

Usually he at least spits and claps, he wasn't even doing that.
Jerry has been hiring other people to do what Garrett does, maybe he also hired a spirt-clapper so Garrett would really have nothing to do

Our 8 wins are against the Jags (1-10), Titans (2-9), Giants twice (3-8), Saints (4-7), Rams (4-7), Texans (5-6), and Seahawks (7-4).

What have they done to earn the benefit of the doubt? They are 3-3 since Seattle and the best showing was against a bad Jaguar team.

I cannot blame anyone for saying here we go again, because it is almost like death and taxes each time the team can seize opportunities right in front of them.

Garrett is way too easy of a target. This team is still not built the right way, especially on defense.

Against the Seahawks, we all saw what this team is capable of when it is motivated to play. Motivation is the head coaches job. This team was not motivated yesterday at all. As long as we keep a mediocre head coach we will continue to be mediocre. Tom Landry said the following "Leadership is a matter of having people look at you and gain confidence, seeing how you react. If you're in control, they're in control." In no way does that describe Jason Garrett.
