Maybe this is true but I have questions.

If he tore his hamstring then how was he walking out of practice without a noticeable limp? A torn hamstring hurts and makes it difficult to walk. If the hammy was that severely injured then why was he walking on it at all?

How do they know it is torn without the MRI? Is there internal bleeding/bruising? Did the muscle retract into the back of his thigh? And if so then again, how was he walking without a limp or pain?

All pulled muscles involve some damage/tearing to the muscle tissue. A torn hamstring means the muscle detached fully or partially at one end or the other.

I am not saying he did not tear his hamstring, but it seems to me the early reports of him walking without a limp are not consistent with a torn hamstring.

I didn't really mind the plan. When we drafted Tyler, we saw him as the eventual future at LT. When we drafted Waletzko, we wanted to give him and last year's draft pick the opportunity to compete for swing tackle before possibly adding a vet.

The problem was that we did nothing to adjust that plan when Waletzko got hurt early in camp and Ball showed that he is nowhere near ready for even a swing tackle role on this team.

That's the problem with going cheap and cutting depth. This game is too physical to believe you don't need high-quality backups. Steele's on a cheap rookie deal. There would have been nothing wrong with riding out Collins' deal until forced to decide which one to pay. In fact, it looks like that would have been decided by Tyron's latest injury. Keep both and let Tyron ride off into the sunset.

Waletzko needed a red shirt season.
This was obviously to most fans.
Tyler needed some transition time to adjust to the NFL.
They obviously misjudged Balls ability.
The whole thing has been terribly mismanaged.
