Tyron Smith is the MVP of the offense

Tyron is the bellwether player which determines whether we win or lose, not Dak or Zeke or Gallup or Cooper or Lamb or whoever else. If you have Tyron and Zack Martin in the game the Cowboys will score lots of points and most probably win the game.

Yeah, I ain't a scout but I sure hope there is a boatload of coaching up and scheming going with Moore and Philbin in order to put the team in the best position to succeed.

IF it were up to me I'd put Martin there but that would require lots of positional shuffling which is something they are trying to avoid I guess since reports are they are keeping the lineup the same as last week.
Like I said, I had no faith in Steele replacing Collins based off Steeles play last year but he became, at least, a competent enough swing RT. After a year and a full offseason that is. They don't have that kinda developmental time this go round though, lol.

Guess it's reached a stage where it's a matter of trusting the coaches to do what's best.

Not really a LOT of positional shuffling, since McGovern had a very good showing at RG in week 1... though I'm hoping McGovern will be the long term LG because he's better than Connor Williams who stinks
 
Martin and Smith the key players on offense without a doubt. How the offense line plays dictates how the well the offense plays 90% of the time. Followed by the QB

Perfect example would be mahomes.
 
Starting Franchise QB is always the MVP of any offense in the NFL, but you are 100% correct on him being number 2 and not THAT far behind.
 
Smith has been a terrific LT for Dallas and he still is when healthy. But the problem has bee having an adequate backup. Wasn't Denver playing without both of the tackles last week? Moving a guy to LT who had not played LT ever carried a lot of risk. But it was a tough call for the coaches.

Yep. ILBs come and go and are replaceable, whereas elite QB-attackers like Parsons and Lawrence Taylor are once in a generation... you cannot waste a player of Parsons' hall of fame talent and caliber at inside linebacker and continue to let the enemy QBs get 10 seconds to throw from the pocket when you don't rush more than 4

Denver could run the ball, Dallas could not. Not the running backs' fault either. 52 and 63 are not pushing guys backwards like 65 and 72 did back in the good ole days. No wonder why we always get stuffed on 4th and 1, 3rd and 1 runs. That crap never happened in 2014 or 2016. It was always an automatic first down.
 
I have said it before and I will say it again, the problem with the Cowboys offensive line is LG and C, Biadasz seems to have improve a bit since early in the season. The other guy has not. He just struggles to move his man off the LOS if he has to take him head on. Watch a replay of the first failed 4th down attempt, preferably the overhead view. notice the nice straight line you can draw along the Cowboys OL except for the LG who gets pushed back a half yard creating the hole for the safety to crash through and hit Zeke in the lower legs. Also notice how effective this is at keeping Zeke from going anywhere.

IMO opinion, Zeke should have cut all the way outside on the left because the Broncos were clearly trying to clog the middle. For whatever reason Zeke didn't see the hole on the outside.

It shouldn’t have been a tough call. Collins should have stepped in at LT instead of reshuffling two positions on the line. Steele should have remained at the RT position and Collins at the LT position. If they played bad, it would only be at the LT position and giving extra help to one position would have been much easier than trying to get help for both. It was a bad coaching decision IMO and I think Collins behavior played a part in him not getting a chance to play LT. OL coaching 101 says that you should move the very least OL positions due to injuries.
 
He’s extremely valuable but it would not be all that big an issue if out FO would prioritize LT when it became obvious Smith could not stay health…another front office fail. The reason this team is always stuck in the mud is depth…that is on the front office.
 
No good to us injured and on the bench. I suspect the O line will have a better performance this week. Steele had two practices to prepare for moving to LT last week.
 
In a span of 4 days we’ve had a thread wanting to dump Tyron and another calling him our offensive MVP. :cool:
 
I think he's terrific. But, if he's our most valuable/important player, we need to do some personnel work. TS misses so many games from injury, we can't afford to have him as a key piece. This isn't a knock on him or his abilities--just his ongoing availability issue.
