I've never cared about the Lions or any Detroit sports team. I grew up in San Antonio a diehard Spurs fan until Timmy Duncan retired. Obviously one of the Spurs' biggest rivals in the '00s was the Pistons. I hated the Pistons. Nobody in west Michigan cares about Detroit or Detroit sports.

I love Parsons and he could be a generational type player but at draft time I was wishing we drafted Slater. We need a plan for LT if we are only going to get 9 games a year from Tyron.

I think he's terrific. But, if he's our most valuable/important player, we need to do some personnel work. TS misses so many games from injury, we can't afford to have him as a key piece. This isn't a knock on him or his abilities--just his ongoing availability issue.

Agreed. We had a chance to draft talent at LT last spring and we didn't do it. Now he's missing games again. Tyron Smith is a great LT, but you can't block from the bench. We need to draft a young, talented LT and stop pretending we don't need one.

Tyron is a great player when healthy but if your numbers and my math are correct that means our record is 75-62 with him so it's not like we have been world beaters with him in the lineup. Having said that I would say that these sample sizes are large enough to prove that his is indeed a great player when healthy. If anything this shows how bad the plan has been at back up LT over the years. Then again this team is always so top heavy that the back up plan at almost every position is usually pretty bad.

It's not an astounding revelation that Tyron has been great through the years but now, he's getting older and more injury prone.

That simply means that, eventually, the Cowboys must, either, acquire a backup or a replacement who can be outstanding, too.

Is it remotely possible that Josh Ball may be the savior that this team needs to resolve their pressing need for another capable OT?

Cowboys struggled in 2017 to the tune of single digits per game when Tyron was out in 2017 and everyone thought it was because of Zeke being suspended but it was not. When Tyron got back we were hanging 30-burgers + on teams like the Giants and WFT that year even without Zeke.

Last year without Tyron most of the year of course the offense mostly stunk it up.

Other years we haven't had Tyron for various games the offense has struggled to keep the chains moving, run the ball and convert third downs just like the Denver loss.

Tyron is the bellwether player which determines whether we win or lose, not Dak or Zeke or Gallup or Cooper or Lamb or whoever else. If you have Tyron and Zack Martin in the game the Cowboys will score lots of points and most probably win the game.

78 is bad at LT but good at RT. 71 would be a solid LT, not as elite as 77 but maybe still pro bowl caliber and definitely not a turnstyle like 78 at LT or Chaz Green.

52 and 63, especially 52 are also problematic.. there's an easy fix for that on the team, but they are in denial.
