If Tyron Smith is going to be back at LT he needs to be activated and slowly worked back in starting off in Jumbo Package to see how he moves and if he still has power. If he excels in that and Tyler and Connor continues to commit penalties then bump him out as LT.

Tyler has been ok, but a 50% Tyron is better than that.

I would put Tyron's future within the following probabilities:

10% - Tyron announces his retirement before the end of the season.

20% - Tyron does not perform well during his 21 day practice window and is placed on Injured Reserve, missing the entire season.

10% - Tyron is activated but they still want to wait a few weeks for him to be 100%. He goes through limited practice for a few weeks but does not play.

10% - Tyron is activated and slowly integrated back into the starting unit. He starts off with certain packages in a limited role.

30% - Tyron is activated and instantly starts at LT while Tyler is switched to LG. However, at some point in the regular season Tyron goes down again. The Cowboys are forced to put Tyler back at LT after playing LG for a number of games. McGovern, who hasn't played LG for that same number of games goes back into LG.

20% - Tyron is activated and instantly starts at LT for every remaining game for the Cowboys.

You missed a bit out Plastic...

In the words of the late, great Leslie Nielsen - "but there's only a 50% chance of that".

They have something called practice.

Tyron would practice against actual NFL players like Micah Parsons...

Practice doesn’t simulate game -action that’ why pre-season is important for ramp-up.

Until he pushes a DL out LOS against their own will or stalls them in pass rush game speed, he is not ready to be starting LT.

What do you think they actually do in practice all week?

You gotta just take the L here and move on to a new subject.

I think all the Tyron smith stuff is a slap in the face to Jason Peters. Dude deserves HIS chance to play too. If we cut Peters I promise u guys he will be signed fast by the Eagles. We should make Tyron the swing, not Peters. Start Peters at LT and start Tyler Smith at LG. McGovern needs to sit.

If he is 100% he don’t need to earn anything. He has put his time in. He needs to show in practice he is ready..

This is without a doubt the dumbest post I have read in the last few weeks and that is saying a lot

Coach McCarthy & Coach Dak says hold your horses it’s a process not a decree.
That's wise. Nothing Coach Jones has said ever translated to the field.

My God. You would think your benching for repeated troll threads would have woken you up. Maybe it needs to be longer?

They will use practice to determine when Tyron is ready to go. Once he is ready to go he will automatically be the starting LT. While the rookie has done an admiral job in Tyron's absence he is not near on the same level as Tyron at this point in his career. The question becomes who will be the starting LG after Tyron returns. Can the rookie take the job from McGovern? This is where the true competition comes into play.

They can see how he moves in practice...if he's activated he will start and Tyler goes to LG.

Peters is 40 years old. If we start playing him 70 plays a game, every game, he will end up on IR. He seems content with his role. He is providing depth and mentoring the young guys. If Tyron is healthy and a full go he is still capable of playing at an All Pro level. That being said, it sure is nice that we will eventually have the depth where we have 3 truly good options at LT. Not a bad position to be in.

It's not a bad take imo. They've been using the term "ramp up" when they were talking about integrating Peters into the playing. There's nothing wrong with easing Tyron back into the game, as he's missed a lot of time. Also, it's not like the OL is getting ran over and need Tyron desperately, so what's the rush?

The Cowboys will more than likely throw Tyron into the lineup like he hasn't missed months of playing football, and expect him to dominate so cheers to #77 being back.
