I really thought that money was already allotted against the salary cap, per the new rookie pool.

DAL was allocated a 9m pool to sign their rookies but that is just what they can spend.

If you use the Rule of 51 it will only take 4.5m to sign the 9 draft picks because they knock the lowest paid 9 players off the 51 man roster.

This could be nothing more than financial housecleaning. Saving around $7M in cap space, if unallocated this year, would allow the Cowboys to roll that over into next year's (likely increased) salary cap.

Bad things like what. And since when has Woodson spilled Cowboy's insights?

Go to Bryan Broaddus twitter page and there are references to the trainers and staff about Hardy. When asked specifically he says to ask Woodson who was on ESPN radio this morning talking about some Hardy stuff.

BTW - Woodson has always been upfront about info with the Cowboys especially on Colin Cowherd's show. It is his job after all.

Look, I'm not trying to throw water on resigning Hardy - I personally hope we do, but he really undermined himself with the team last year and it's why you haven't heard anything from him, his agent, another team or the media.

Not a word.

Considering he's probably the best remaining pass rusher in free agency, it's pretty easy to read between the lines. If he would've redeemed himself last year he would've gotten Vernon money and been long gone by now.

How does that work? Amari Cooper(4th pick) had a 4.1 million cap for the Raiders last year and Donovan Smith(34th pick) had a 1.1 million hit. I haven't seen the 34th picks salary this year, but 4th is projected to be a 3 million increase to total contract. I was expecting them to need closer to 6-6.5 for this class.

You have to subtract around 500k for every player signed because they knock someone off the 51 man roster. Those guys knocked off have salaries of 500k or so that don't count anymore.

It is only the 1st and 2nd and some of the 3rd rounders that count against the cap, hence 4.5-5m for the 9 players.

Something must be happening soon. A lot of cap room to free up. If it was for the draft it would been done closer to April 28.

So we have enough left over to sign Matt Moore and Jack Crawford. If Carroll is signed then they can cut Carr and create more space. After Ramsey is drafted, Church get's the axe. Then they will start looking for a DE to sign who is a late cut from other teams.

If we do not sign a decent FA DE before the draft, I can not see us using that #4 pick on Ramsey. It will be Bosa at that point.

Seattle was probably mentioned because they were really the only team besides Dallas that openly considered adding him last year.

It'll be interesting to see where he winds up. Dallas is probably the leader at this point even with all the reports of him being done as a Cowboy. If that makes any sense. Nobody really wants to deal with him.
The feeling around the league probably is that if Jerry Jones doesn't want to put up with your crap, you must be a royal pain. The Bengals don't mind headcases, maybe they will give him a shot.

Chris Long is just negotiation fodder for Greg Hardy.

The guy hasn't even been in for a visit and we know everything we need to know about Hardy.

Room to sign him.

Carr will be post June cut or restructured.

We draft Ramsey or Elliott, watch.

Doubt this is Hardy related.
I did see some educated guessing on another website that JJ wanted to start re-upping his OL like Fred-beard and maybe Martin?

I hope so. This is exactly what I want to happen.

It's a 10 yr deal and he took a discount, nothing to worry about
He really only took a discount on the guaranteed money, not the overall contract value. If I remember correctly, his agent didn't want him to sign the deal, but he was convinced he would see most of the money.

Greg Hardy isn't returning.. The Cowboys have moved on from that circus & so should anyone who thinks there's a chance of him returning.

Go back and rewatch the Saints game to see what is like to start Lawrence and Jack Crawford at DE. If Hardy is not comming back we need somebody legit to replace him.
