Tyron Smith

Better question -- how many of those penalties came b/c the center didn't snap on the right count?

and also, Smith will continue to get dinged in PFF ranking b/c of his personal foul for a horse collar. Would anyone in their right mind downgrade him over that penalty? He saved 4 points. However, that will cost him in the PFF rankings all year.

just another example of why PFF is garbage as regards how they rate players

As far as I remember, he played a heck of a game on Monday night.

Peppers didn't do shizzle
Good point.

He did a heck of a job on Peppers.

Except he wasn't lined up against Peppers on, say, our opening drive when he gets stunted and Romo gets sacked. Killing the drive that was at the Chicago 40.

True. He did have that gaffe. I'm more ok w that though. Mental blunder. Not physical. Hopefully the mental breakdowns slowly but surely get eliminated

Well I sure hope that too. Nothing would please me more than Tyron to turn into the best in the league overnight at LT. I worry that he's struggled much more than I hoped he would. For some reason folks think it's a fait'accompli that he blossoms into a top 3 LT. I don't think that is a given at all, and I think the notion that having him be the best RT instead of a middling LT is a rational, reasonable opinion...

Just a brief pause to thank everyone for staying on subject without making it personal.. Which when I look at who is posting almost shocks me. :)

Well done..

i was completely against the tyron smith pick orginally.

wanted JJ watt really bad...still think smith will be a good player. Idk if he'll ever make an impact like JJ watt though.

We should've drafted JJ Watt and got an Olineman in the 2nd or 3rd round. Before anyone jumps on me, remember Larry Allen was drafted in the 2nd round. Erik Williams was drafted in the 3rd.

I just think it's easier to draft Dlineman in the first round because a defender is just a reacter. With Tyron, not only he has to learn schemes, but now he has the added pleasure of learning a new position.

Nothing against the kid, just my opinion.

With the way scouting is today, LA would be a first rd pick.

and you seem to be able to ignore this teams lousy record with Oline Draft picks not in the first or second round.

We have had a few failures with second round picks on the O line, but compared to what we have gotten there it is NOTHING compared to drafting lower

Hasn't changed at all. He's a future All Pro.

I agree 100%.

He's learning a new position this year. Had to expect bumps in the road.
