Every year an undrafted free agent gets a lot of hype just to get cut .
Hopefully this isn't one of them.

Good chance when it's all said and done that he ends up on the PS like Brandon Smith did. Maybe he'll do more than that.

Cavanaugh mentioned he had a great receiving day today but a horrible blocking day. Sounds like Jarwin.

Thought he was more of a receiver than blocker when we signed him.

Dak, Lamb, and Gallup all like Houston and have passed this on to the coaches. When you connect the dots he will make the team and probably start in week 1. Houston is a good player and a guy that you would want on the team.

It's difficult for any rookie to start Week 1, expecting it of an undrafted rookie is expecting too much. I'm fine with it happening if it doesn't happen because we're lacking in starting-quality receivers, I'm just not expecting it.

If Ferguson shows he can be a good blocking TE, Hendershot could make it over Sprinkle and McKeon just off receiving ability. But if we need more of a blocking TE, I'd give the edge to Sprinkle or McKeon.

It's not like Washington is out for the season. Let's give these guys a chance and see what they can do. When Romo went down if gave Dak a chance and he did pretty well.

McKeon had a good camp last year.
I wonder if Houston can return kicks? that would give him a better shot at the 53.

And now we are having youth and Lamb. Until Gallup comes back we have youth and Lamb.. Want Noah to step up but not going to happen..
it might.
sounds like he's off to a good start.
we'll get answers from the pre-season games.

Dennis Houston
Strengths

  • Does not possess top breakaway speed, though he's rarely caught from behind.
  • Has long arms to stiff-arm defensive backs in the open field. Willing to lower his pads to run through tackles for extra yardage. Goes over the middle, can spin out of tackles and take the big hit.
  • He catches the ball with his large, soft hands and is tough. Deceptive jets and a smooth route runner.
  • Often used on deep routes, getting separation down the sideline or over the middle on crossing routes by extending his arms rather than pure speed.
  • Very soft, natural hands to cleanly catch away from his frame. Concentration is excellent. Has the lateral agility and strength to get into and out of routes smoothly.
  • Goes up high for jump balls. Good flexibility and reach to snatch back-shoulder throws.
  • Has a knack for getting open and is a quarterback's best friend - passers just need to toss the ball in his area and he'll come down with it.
Weaknesses
  • Does not own elite speed. Freezes at times when trying to juke defenders in space. Walls off his man as a blocker, allowing them to shed and make the play outside.
  • Inconsistent high-pointing passes. Allows too many throws into his body when facing the quarterback.
  • Hands are good, not great. Will drop some easy balls and sometimes will body catch. Occasionally fails to high point.

We will see alot of vanilla. But we will get a good look at how well our run game will look..
it'll be the opportunity for vasher...houston...and others to either make plays or cause the team to pursue other options at wr.
vanilla play calls yes.
but we'll get some answers on vasher and houston.

Really like this Dennis Houston guy. 6-2, 4.41 40? Has been a standout all offseason.

Where did you hear that Houston was that fast ?

In fact his lack of top tier 40 time speed was supposedly the lead reason why he went undrafted.

Regardless my hope always is we get another under the radar Cedrick Wilson type in this undrafted rookie class.
