Lesnar was a fraud he had no business getting that title shot when he got it, he should have payed his dues like everyone else has to. I'm pretty sure Dana set that fight up knowing it was his best shot at getting the belt away from Couture. He knew Couture had always struggled with big Wrestlers and was also flirting with leaving the UFC to fight Fedor. Brock got the title fight after just 2 fights in the UFC and he had only won 1 of them and was just 2-1 overall in MMA, i always though that was extremely unfair to fighters that work their butts off to get that shot and it's no secret i've been wanting to see what happened tonight since.

The UFC HW division was a joke when Brock won the title and he instantly made it interesting, it was huge as far as PR goes to have him win that title and they hyped him accordingly.
Brock has freakish athletic ability and almost unlimited potential but he's raw as hell and he looked like he to was caught up in his own hype. He never seemed to get any more skilled with each fight and always looked like a dude that relied purely on size and brute force. Brock got exposed big time tonight and i honestly think it can be the best thing that ever happened to him as a fighter. Cain exposed the holes in his game tonight and showed everyone that brute force only gets you so far. If Brock works on some of his weaknesses as a fighter and improve in those areas he'll be unstoppable

Not really -- much more intelligence needed for boxing than MMA/UFC.

The reason these fights are sometimes entertaining is specifically cause MMA fighters are usually terrible at boxing and get caught with slow power punches in stand up. When it goes to the grappling on the ground and quits being about striking, it gets boring.

Brock got out of control last night.

He needs to fight like Dan Henderson and just try to counter.

A flying knee? Come on..

And that was an early stoppage too IMO.

The old fighter mentality regardless of what you take up, "you have to get your butt kicked, to know how to kick some butt."

Works regardless of what you do.

I like that video of the Undertaker and him staring each other down. It would have been cool to see him in MMA. They should have shown more of his wife, Michelle McCool. She is seriously hot.

I agree with his assessment of Brock. If he can't go straight to ground and pound I think he looks too vurlerable. Carwin tagged him and backed him up. Carwin had no cadio. Cain is the exact opposite in that I think the longer a fight goes the more likely he is to come out on top. Once he hit Brock he did just like against Carwin. He backed up. The difference was, Cain did not punch himself out.

Brock is fun to watch because of his power, but power can't win every fight.

I am really happy for Cain. I liked him from the first time I saw him and others hated him for the Brown Pride tat. Great fighter IMO.

wonder if Lesnar thinks Velasquez's fist tastes as good as a Corona and burrito would have.

We get it, we get it. You are and have always been Cain's #1 Fan! :laugh2:

Seriously though I agree that Brock's standup has always been the fatal flaw, Carwin exposed it for the world to see. It all stems from inexperience, he's just not used to getting punched in the face. Wrestling doesn't prepare you for that and neither does football of entertainment wrestling, you just have to fight. I've never seen anyone cower like Brock does in a ring once the fists start flying, and I was even more surprised he wasn't called out for it from his last fight. It was pretty cowardly.

I have always hated Brock though, so I will admit I was jumping up and down like a fool while Cain wrecked him. Especially since I was so disappointed by so many of the other fights on the card.

On a positive note, now that Brock has gotten his face smashed I can focus all my hatred on Jake Shields. Holy crap, the UFC does NOT need another hugger under contract, send that dude back to Strikeforce!

I know some people took offense to that, and as I said I hate Brock, but I don't think he meant to be anything other than funny when he said that. You could tell Brock didn't hate the guy from the onset, nothing like his back and forths with Mir and Carwin.

I'm not sure I am. My friend Al is big into MMA. He goes to almost all of these. I know he was there last night. Cain has been his favorite fighter for a long time. He was telling me about him for months before I saw him fight and he predicted last night almost perfectly. He thought Brock lasted the 1st round but not the 2nd.

I'm an impressed observer of the sport. I don't have favorites. He is a genuine fan of the guy. My favorite fighter last night was Diego Sanchez by far.

Dang. I don't know much about the sport but I thought they call the fight when you are no longer actively protecting yourself and are just trying to stay alive by covering up. Maybe not. I could be wrong and probably am.

Looked like Lesnar was given every chance in the world to collect himself and put up a defense. He was clearly outmatched when he was on the ground. To be honest, I thought the fight could have been called for a good period of time before it was.

Not only that but that cut was HUGE. You think they would have let him go back out with that filleted mug?

Lesnar was just outmatched. He couldn't bull the guy over and he looked to be at a loss. After Cain separated himself around the 3 minute mark, Brock looked to back up and have absolutely no idea of what he was going to do.

I was pretty shocked at how easily Cain worked him over once the brief period of Brock taking him down was over.

Thanks for posting this!!!

If only the UT were 20 years younger.

Yeah.

Funny thing is, you can tell Taker's had a few drinks.

He's got his liquid courage on high and Lesnar is in a pissed mood from getting whipped.

Taker's been my favorite wrestler since I started watching back in the day but this move just looked foolish. Asking a guy who was just in a fight if they "wanna do it" is pretty damn stupid.

Then again, I don't know why they don't like each other. I'm glad he at least had the stones to just say there was personal stuff between them.

you get Lesnar in a brawl with a guy who can fire left right combos in a bar and Lesnar is picking his teeth up , the next day after he wakes up

You don't actually believe this, right? You legit think that a Joe blow in a bar would actually pick a fight with a lesnar or anybody his size for that matter at a bar and beat him at that, if he 'knew how to throw combos'? LOL.

I believe the ref is supposed to stop it when the fighter can no longer intelligently defend himself. I thought the stoppage was correct and at the right time, not too soon or too late. Lesnar also had a serious gash under his left eye so was fortunate to have it stopped.

I dont see how you can argue that Lesnar didnt deserve a title shot, if that were the case he wouldnt of held the belt through 3 title defenses.

It was great seeing him get lit up like that last night though.

2 title defenses and he barely escaped the last one with a win.

Cain had to win 9 straight fights to get his shot, Brock had to win 1 and his 1 UFC win prior to getting a title shot wasn't even a contender, it was Heath Herring

Brock didn't deserve a title shot when he got it, i don't know how anyone can say he did when much better fighters like Cain have to win more fights then Brock has had in total to even get a shot at it

Diego had this to say before last night..."That last fight with Hathaway I wasn’t disciplined, wasn’t focused and was making the wrong decisions with my personal life. I had this idea in my head that I was gonna go in there and just knock him out. Karma came around and bit me in the *** pretty hard with a big knee in the face in the first round.... When it’s all said and done, I got my life together; I got my act together. I stopped partying. I said, ‘Hell, I don’t want to lose any more fights in my career.' The only thing I can tell you is I was very humbled by God, and I had to humble my whole lifestyle. I made a lot of changes. I realized what I want in my life. Now I’m just moving toward the positive. The main thing I learned from my losses was that, in the fight game, you earn the victory.... I know in my heart that was a watered-down version of Diego Sanchez. This time around, Dana White is gonna be saying, ‘Holy ****, Diego looks amazing at 170."
