damn! just found out Machida trains with the same camp as Anderson. Blackhouse is running the ufc.

edit: somebody has to get Machida to the ground and see if he can fight from his back. WAR RAMPAGE!
That's the only thing I can see someone doing to beat him if they can't get inside his kicks. He's too accurate. He's not a puncher really but his punches land on the button.

well also the 2 fights you have seen of him he fought guys where stand up isn't there strongest technique. he beat Thiago Silva who has decent stand up but is better suited using his jujitsu. he just beat Rashad who has some decent standup as well but is better using his wrestling and ground n pound. Rashad fell in love with his hands after beating Chuck Liddell who is at the end of his career and Forrest Griffin who has good kicks but sloppy boxing and a weak chin. Looks like Rampage is next up in the quest to solve Machida.

He's got a black belt in BJJ as well so he's not someone you'd want to fight on the ground

Rampage got a shot if he can use his size to bully him up against the cage and just try to fight in the clinch, I can't see him beating him striking and not on the ground

that's great but it doesn't mean much until he shows it in mma.

you've never seen Machida on the ground. he earned that blackbelt wearing a gi and not getting punched in the face. I think one of the reasons Machida fights the way he does is because he doesn't have a lot of confidence in his chin. If Rampage gets a clean shot in we'll find out what his chin is made of.

he's done it twice. once to a pure kickboxer trying to fight mma in Michael McDonald and in the UFC he tapped out another kickboxer in Sokoudjou. not to mention he almost got caught in a triangle by of all people Tito Ortiz. I'm not impressed with his bjj.

I'd rather take my chances there than to get kicked to death.

I think Silva has said before that he wouldn't fight Machida.

I give Rampage a great chance against Machida.

He is still the best @ 205 imo and im not even sure the belt should have been taken off of him to begin with.

One of Machida's main goals is to show the world that karate is the be all end all of hand to hand combat, and it is. This kid's sumo background is something that rarely gets mentioned. I think he was a Brazilian champion w/ that also.

One could tell by watching all of his early fights just what a talent this young man is. I honestly don't see anyone beating him for a while.

So glad to see Evans get his face beat in.

Rampage? Please....

Where did I say someone else did? I said that it is one of his major goals.

He comes from a pure karate background. His own father was a master.

I dont think I would bet against Machida vs anyone in his weight classs. He dominated a very good fighter in Evans. I like Rampage but I dont see him fairing much better then Evans.

you said it was the all be end of hand to hand combat. how if he's the only one to be successful with it so far?
