Had a feeling the team might be a bit sleepy after last week's emotional win and next week's showdown with Seattle.

I'll take it.

It was ugly. But I'll take it. Romo was off today, The line didn't open the same holes and they had been the last 3 weeks and there were a few bad drops. The D is showing they aren't going to be a bad D. Yeah they will have there WTH moments, but overall they are fast to the ball and pretty sure tacklers. I'm pretty encouraged by this game, Because you are going to have to win ugly games every once in awhile. Last years team would have been 1-4 or 2-2 at best.

Over the course of a season you will have games like this. The good teams pull out wins, and they did that today. 4-1 sounds a lot better than 3-2. Still don't think they are legit contenders but I'm gonna enjoy this win. Texas bragging rights.

You still gotta win, even the ugly ones. The teams that wanna be good find a way to win. When was the last time the Cowboys made that big, improbable play to help propel the team to a win? Seems like we see it all the time with other teams. But dangit, today was our day!
This win, ugly as it may have been is what young teams like Dallas need. 4-1 feels great!

I thought it was a good game. Gotta cut down on the turnover, but besides that, I thought they played well.

Should have been 31-7 at the end for the 3rd quarter. Fumbles inside the 10 were frustrating.

That was freakin pathetic on several levels, but I'm glad they had the intestinal fortitude to play through it and squeak out the win. It takes time to wash off the stench of "loser" when you've been bad for so long.

agree with the OP but i still feel frustrated.we are repeating the same mistakes over and over which is costing us points.I understand the lack of talent on the defense but the offense has to keep its end of the bargain.

I will say this, we should have blown this team out. All the mistakes we made were basically points off the board. I think we were somewhere around 28 plus points left on the board. It's time to get back to hungry football which we found in over time. The last few minutes of regulation has to be cleaned up. It just has too. Garrett needs to buckle down and get himself organized during that time. But luckily, the defense composed themselves, stopped Texans. Then the Cowboys became aggressive again.

The thing Garrett has to understand is that you never take your foot off the throttle until it's well in check. We were up by 10 and just stopped being aggressive on offense. I've seen high schools do this too. Keep attacking that team, especially since they had no answer, we just stopped ourselves.

Anyways, a great victory, we pulled it out and I'm ecstatic. Except for the one rookie mistake Romo made in his own red zone, he was flawless.

Yep same issue they had with the Saints, they hyperfocus on running the ball and dinking and dunking. No need to go full on zero risk offense.

I don't care how we win. I just care that we win. My few observations: 1). The offense was sloppy today. Dropped passes, turnovers, etc. You normally lose when you have three turnovers to the other team's one. Glad that didn't hold today. 2). The defense played great in the first half, but got badly gashed in the second. Still, they came up with the key stop in OT, so I'll take it. 3). I don't know that I've ever seen a team give up a down to try a freaking 49 yard field goal, especially considering what was on the line. I know Bailey is the best, but damn, had he missed the Texans would have had good field position. Guess it shows how much faith they have in him.

To me, it would be even uglier if Houston dominated in the stats and somehow Dallas snuck out with a win. But thats not the case. Dallas put up 9 more first downs, ran 19 more plays, had a 5 minute edge in time of possession, had over 100 more yards.

When the Boys get dominated, but somehow come out with a win, those are the games that concern me. Thats not the case today, IMO.

These kind of games happen in the NFL. They had a real good game plan against Dallas today and a lot of things bounced the Texans way.

All NFL teams have days like this... good teams pull out the victory even though they didn't earn it.

Also, don't let the physical nature of this Dallas team go unnoticed. The physical teams usually end up pulling it out in close games because by the end of the game, the less physical team is just worn down. Dallas took away their early emotion and just wore them out.

I told my buddy after the miss to end regulation that OT should favor the physical team. Indeed it did.

This team is way different from what we have been seeing for a long time. Even the 2007 13-3 team was out physical'ed by the Giants in the playoffs. I haven't seen a team that was always more physical than the competition since one Jimmy Johnson roamed the sidelines in Dallas.

Absolutely love this year's team.
