And the whole point of a 3TE set or a 12 set is that you have guys who can block and catch passes. Apparently, Escobar is one dimensional. I have a feeling we're going to regret not taking Eifert. That guy will be a star in this league.

In the 12 set, they will primarily throw the ball against base defenses. If the defense plays nickel, then they will run. Escobar will be blocking DBs when they run against nickel defenses.

Glad you got a kick out of it but I was serious, The way this roster is built is very different from years past, so I think your being a little bit naive to think Garrett had nothing to do with that.

it seems as though we have 5 quality TEs in camp: Witten, Hanna, Escobar, Rosario, and Smith. I dont know much about CC, is he getting any reps at all. I assume we will be taking 4 into the season. I see Smith as the odd man out. I assumed he would be on the practice squad for sure......however, with the TE situation in NE and Baltimore, I am very skeptical of him even making it to the PS, much less remaining there if he does make it.

what I would like to do is feature Smith quite a bit in the HOF game......if he shows something, then maybe we can trade him to one of the two above teams for a 2014 draft pick (5-7 rounds)

They should be able to get used to the NFL by the end of the season. Thank god we have Jason Written though I hope he doesn't get hurt to the point of using the two TE as backup.
