You may think it is stupid but the NFLPA agreed to it, meaning the players voted in agreement with the policy. If he wants to smoke weed fine that is his choice but he just blew an NFL because of it. Only thing that is stupid is Gregory. He talked all the BS of "Fixing the Problem" how he needed to grow up and so on. It was nothing more than a lie to himself and to the organization. I will not make excuses for him being stupid those who choose to do so fine but in the end the guy blew a once in a life time career over something some people here think is no big deal, well evidently it is a big enough deal to end a career.

I won't make excuses for him either. But Gregory being stupid doesn't mean the league isn't also stupid. They don't deserve excuses either.

Tell me about it, I went on that chantrex pill to quit smoking,,, well after about 3 weeks I kinda started having walking 'blackouts',,, the last time it happened I was in my F550 service truck going down the road in a residential area not knowing who/what/where I was or doing! I had to take stock and look at a service work order to figure it out,,,,It scared me(and I'm fearless) I quit taking them, the cure will kill you.
I saw a header on drudge report that airline pilots have claimed the same thing.

I'll stick to the devils lettuce

Speaking of pills I was watching that new documentary on HBO about opioids. Yep I'll stick to the devils lettuce for my back.

When you say league I guess you mean owners and NFLPA because it took both parties signing off on the CBA

The NFL is far from the only organization that prohibits the use of any illegal drug. If I tested positive for ANY illegal drug, my career would be over. Of course I'm eligible to retire right now, but that's a moot point. If you don't want to abide by the rules, you're free to choose another way to support yourself. The NFL isn't saying you can't use marijuana. They're saying you can't use marijuana and work for us. It's really pretty simple.

I'm honestly surprised any fellow Cowboys fans are even talking about this clown. The greatest opportunity in his life is literally going up in smoke. Once a loser always a loser. He's getting what he deserves

Well, it's not something the NFLPA wanted. It was something they gave up for negotiation's sake. The owners (at least some) actually want it. Though, that too could be as a bargaining chip.

Same here, we are talking a 60 thousand dollar job, chump change for the avg NFL player and yet they would risk their career over something like weed? I'm not a prude by any means and have smoked weed for many years but that changed when I was informed we would be drug testing. A choice had to be made, what is more important my job and the money it allows me to make or getting stoned? Choice was easy.

An NFL career last a short time and the opportunity to make big money with it, I question the intelligence of those who can't put it down while pursuing this dream.

People here love to say weed is not a big deal so if that is the case it is no big deal then why throw away a career over something that is no big deal?

Yep, you can name all the "so called" issues you want but, for players & owners it's always about the money. Actually,
it's only about the money.

True it is all about making money. I have no issue with that at all. I don't care if the league has drug testing. what I do care about is Dallas players abiding by the rules of the league because suspended players do not help this team win games.

I feel the exact same way. Even if he does have diagnosed mental issues, he had the best help in the world available to him. I am sure the organization would have paid for the best treatment/doctors in the field to help him out.
