Under MM, Cowboys had first back-to-back playoff appearances under one coach since 1998-99

Quitting is easy....not practicing hard is easy....says a lot about a person when they have that mentality. Many do....playing on a bad team and still busting your butt says a lot about a person too. The good thing is we get to choose. Slacker or worker. Wonder which will be more successful in the long run.
Ok work for free then.

I am of the belief that if you can consistently make the playoffs, you will eventually break through.

Unfortunately, because of the attrition nature of the league, it is single game elimination in the NFL and the best team does not always win. Having consistent attempts is what gets you to the promised land. People that remember the Landry era should appreciate that.
Bum Phillips kept knocking on the door of the SB and ole blue never made it all the way.

Baseball postseason is a massive crapshoot. Much more than the nfl. We (braves) have got our work cut out in October.
I like the playoff format better now, but I wish the LDS was 7 games. Much more likely that the best team wins imo.

Our bullpen has been great all year and then…..Philly. I just want to hit their mascot with a cinder block. We should have swept with ease, but we’ll take 3 of 4.

I think our middle relievers and closers will get it together. It’ll be a HUGE disappointment if we don’t win the pennant. Another WS win would be sweetness. Being in Atlanta now makes watching them that much better. I have tickets to several games this month. Hopefully we’ll get some cooler (i.e, not in the 90’s) weather.

A Cowboys SB and Braves WS win? Sporting nirvana!

Don't want to know where you pulled that one off, but I made plenty of money, now i do a lot of things for free now. Football camps, no commissions on properties that I sell to friends and family...among other things. Feels pretty good.

We know that the Cowboys defense will be able to get after the quarterback, but the Cowboys offense will be facing a tough Jets defense. The Dallas offense wasn’t exactly explosive last week, but they did account for 27 of the 40 points the Cowboys put up. That’s a decent number. And the overall 40 points was the highest in the league last week. It was also the 12th time the team scored 40 points under Mike McCarthy (2020). That leads the league, with Tampa Bay, Kansas City and Buffalo all tied for second with seven 40-point games in that same time span.

Next, Jets...let's just do it all again...

And with the Cowboys at home, expect the offense to perform. Ever since Dak Prescott became the quarterback in 2016, Dallas has scored 196 touchdowns at AT&T Stadium, and averaged 29.2 points there. That’s the most touchdowns and points-per-game in the NFL, at home, during that time span. It’s rare that the Cowboys offense doesn’t put points on the board at home, so the Jets defense will have its hands full.

That’s a point that most people miss. Football is entertainment. All 4 SB losses under Levy were successful seasons and very entertaining…..until the SB losses. Two of those years were VERY entertaining for Cowboys fans.

If it’s SB or bust, then 31 teams’ fans are going to be miserable every year. I hear the same thing in all sports: ‘The regular season doesn’t matter! Did we win a championship?’

I’ve been a Cowboys and Braves fan since the 60’s. The regular season absolutely matters. It blows worse than anything when my teams are not competitive during the regular season. Of course I want championships, but I’m not going to lose my mind if my teams don’t get one. Well, unless the Braves don’t get one this year. That would be a travesty on the order of the Cowboys jacking up a season after going 13-3.
I was ok with that point of view until like 10 years after the last SB win. Of course you are among the other 31 teams more often than not. But not being even close for almost 30 years? That's a disgrace.

These are the friggin Dallas Cowboys. Salary Cap or not, I expect better from them. So you and everyone else enjoy those regular season wins. It's not that I don't like them or anything.

Other than that, since a couple of years the "real" season begins in January for me. Everything else before that is just the warm up.

Just don't tell other Cowboy fans what to do and what not. That's a real annoyance with the Homers over these last couple of years.

Imagine how good you would feel if you did all that before you made plenty of money. You’d be almost saintly by now no? Saint Ranching of Texas? Put in a few good words for me with the upstairs department.

Who was promptly fired for this achievement and replaced by Dave "5-11" Campo.

The moment he donned his wet suit at SeaWorld I checked out. No respectable coach shows that package. Lol

The Eagles did not win every game in blowout fashion last year. A chunk, sure. The Lions, Jaguars, Cardinals, Cowboys, Colts, Packers, Bears, and second Giants games were all won by 1 score or less. The Eagles had control of this game for most of the second half, and it showed.

And Coach said this as well, the Cowboys are knee deep in a battle with the Eagles here and now. He didn't stutter...

Whatever anyone says at the end of the day it's about entertainment. It sucks deeply none of that entertainment has come with a championship in a very long time, but the team has still provided me with an endless amount of entertainment. Progress is my barometer for success. Last year was the first time in forever we went back to back. We still lost in the divisional round but I consider the season a success in getting the young guys more playoff experience and establishing a winning culture. This year we need to make it past the divisional round for me to consider the season a success. Either way I expect I'll be entertained most of the year.

I followed the Braves when in the 12 team National League and before Murphy hit the Mendoza line and they were last; last; next to last; last with Glen Hobbs as well. Horner went to Japan.

I don’t think I realized this until just now:

Under MM, the Cowboys have had their first back-to-back playoff appearances under one coach since 1998-99 under Chan Gailey.

We went btb in ‘06-‘07 under different coaches (Phillips/Parcells).

I want SBs like everyone else, but just making the playoffs would be the first time we made them in 3 consecutive years since the nice run ended in 1996 (6 years in a row).

Team record: 9 appearances in a row, ending in 1983.
If you don't get past the divisional round, did you really make the playoffs?

I mean, almost half the league makes the playoffs. Big deal.

It's what you do when you get there that matters

If you can enjoy a losing season you're a better fan than me. I only watch in those years to see up and coming talent. I usually do chores or stay busy and watch in the background. I can't help but get angry so I stay distracted.

So what are you saying right now, they are just barely good here?

When you hadn't put together back to back winning seasons in forever I still consider it a success.

There's a ton of context though

My hope would be it's good experience and something to build off of.

Make no mistake we really need advance for me to continue feeling that way.

The Braves were one of three teams in the region one could follow with regular games. I was stationed at Fort Knox, Ky. I preferred the Braves over the Cubs and Reds, then.

Baseball postseason is a massive crapshoot. Much more than the nfl.
Not to get off topic, but a one-and-done playoff game is more of a crapshoot than a best of five or best of seven series will ever be.
