Every year we guess what mid to high level player we're going to sign during free agency. And every year the Cowboys always sign some low level guy we rarely ever heard of, who might be ready to breakout. This year will likely be no different. Which small name players do you think we might have our eye on?

I don't think Ingram (former 1st rounder) is considered under the radar. Guys like T. McClain, Mayowa, Gakacher are more of that type of FA. One's that leave us scratching our heads when signed. "who are these guys"???

I've stated my under the radar guy would be Addison, from Carolina.

Believe the 49ers will release Tank Carradine OLB and definitely could be on the Cowboys radar. 49ers tried to make him a 3-4 OLB but his natural position is DE in a 4-3. Was pretty good at Florida St as a DE and had 11 sacks.

Think they tried making him a 3-4 DE, made him gain weight his first 3 years and last year I think tried to move him to 3-4, can be real cheap if he comes to Dallas.

Maybe a strong side DE only. He's gotten too big over the years, doesn't look as quick anymore.

I like Carradine, plus he's only 27.

Where did you see they were going to release him?. All I can find is that the 49ers are switching to a 4-3 and how that will benefit Carradine.

5. Calais Campbell, DI, Arizona Cardinals
The only thing keeping Campbell from being higher on this list is age, as he will enter the 2017 season north of 30 years old for the second time in his career. Campbell, though, is coming off the best season of his NFL tenure, recording 56 total QB pressures and 34 defensive stops in 2016. He maintained his strong run defense and improved as a pass-rusher. The way Arizona has deployed him, Campbell can play in any scheme, and has effectively lined up at 3-technique (the traditional pass-rushing alignment of a four-man D-line defensive tackle) more often than any other spot for the Cardinals, despite their base defensive front.

I'd be looking at CB Logan Ryan with New England. He's slightly below the top tier of A.J. Bouye and Trumaine Johnson, but might still be too high up. We'll probably shop closer to Ross Cockrell of the Steelers.

At DE, Ingram would be too high as would Addison. Ware, at his age, might be attainable, but we also don't like paying age, so we might take a shot at someone like Devin Taylor, who had seven sacks for the Lions in 2015, but played poorly last year or maybe Jacquies Smith, whose price tag might be lower because he missed all but one snap of last season after having 13.5 sacks combined in 2014 and 2015.

At safety, Church will probably be a mid-level guy, but might come cheaper for us than players rated below him, like Micah Hyde or D.J. Swearinger. JJ Wilcox is rated in that company.

At receiver, someone like Robert Woods or Kamar Aiken would be possibilities, but they are only considered slightly better options than Terrance Williams.

Micah Hyde, he can play all positions in the secondary.

23 splash plays in his 4 years in the league, primarily a nickel CB / dime Safety:
  • 8 Interceptions
  • 5 Forced fumbles
  • 6 Fumble recoveries
  • 4 Sacks
Real nice player who finds way to get his hands on the ball.

He'd be a major upgrade to Wilcox as the 3rd safety and would also be a nice slot CB. Just don't ask him to play outside...

If they're under the radar we probably haven't heard of them yet.

Campbell isnt under the radar, but age will definitely push down his value. He would be a great signing for the Cowboys, but I'm just having trouble determing where he would play as he isnt really an rde.

Yeah that was strange. He's close to 300 lbs now.

Slim him down to 275 and let him go
