Was anybody really impressed by Dak's play yesterday?

Not in the first half, got better as the game went on..thats needs to continue. KM play calling got better also started using same set motionts to set up diferent plays instead of just picking wether to run up the middle or wide on 3rd and short out of a hat.

I thought he played really well considering no game snaps in pre season and none since the first game
He only had 5 incomplete passes and a 113 rating
How is that not a good game for first full game of the season

Which begs the question, Dak isn't NFL royalty despite his ridiculous overpaid salary. Considering he started declining last year he should have gotten at least two halves of pre-season work in this go around.

He’s far from over paid
And if you watched other games you’d see the “nfl royalty” struggling mighty bad
As for pre season I hate the idea of not giving all the starters reps if they are healthy
Just can’t simulate the speed of a game in practice

This is the same Skip who tried to put Cooper Rush above Tua last night. Not going to take him too seriously when he has takes like this.

ETA: We are also talking about the same Skip who said that Cooper Rush had no fault or blame at all for the Cowboys loss to the Eagles. Which shows how much credibility he has when "analyzing" QBs.

I don't think it's an "excuse" to acknowledge he hadn't played in over five weeks. It's just a fact.

He was better in the second half than the first, but obviously it still wasn't the level of play Cowboys fans want to see. Let's see how he looks next week.

My favorite part was when it was essentially over and Romo said this is when the QB begs his OC for a shot at getting a meaningless TD pass at the end of the game to make his numbers look better and sure enough that is exactly what happened.

He objectively made three bad throws (first throw to Brown, then the two into triple coverage...even that throw to Ceedee in triple coverage was a great throw but a bad decision), and that's it. He played just fine otherwise, and made several throws Rush doesn't make. His accuracy was on point once he got in the groove. He dropped several dimes exactly where only his receivers could make a play. Every other issue was either a playcalling issue or a protection issue. I don't know enough to know if Dak should have audibled out of some of those third and short runs, but it seems like those were all on Kellen. No, Dak didn't have a Mahomes-esque game but he didn't need to. He needed to shake off rust and he did. That said, there will come a point the team needs him to step up against better opponents and earn his contract then. If he fails when that time comes then you'll have every right to rip him. But making mountains out of mole hills when he did exactly what he needed to do waters down your future arguments/critiques of his play, just saying.

Undisputed is everything wrong with “news.” Having said that, Skip stumbles upon a valid point. Because of the 18 point win, Dak gets the rust excuse. But, there are a number of disturbing aspects to Dak’s play that have become outright trends. They need to rediscover the Dak who took the field in New England last year.

He also threw that pass to Pollard on the 1-yard line that was very dangerous and would have been a TD for the Lions.

I believe he threw 3 easily interceptable balls yesterday, but we got lucky and they didn't get picked off.

Exactly. The overreaction folks are full speed right now. I thought it looked like the play calling and everything else seemed slower. Almost like they were taking it easy not really pressing. Not sure why but again we will see. I expect him and this offense to be much better in a game or two.

I'm not sure I understand the criticism though. We're they intercepted? Then why are we discussing easily interceptable balls? If the defended doesn't get it and we make the play that's a good thing yes?
