Just another made-up call like in 2014.

There is NO HUDDLE yet and Butler isn't even communicating to any teammate in the huddle and is looking at the sideline to the coaches, just like Dak is..

One wonders if G.Bay coaching maybe noticed it happening several times, as they were watching game tape during the week, and alerted Blandino and crew to look at it...............that call, as some have stated hasnt been seen for decades......it had to get on the ref's radar in some way or form.

Totally confusing, obscure, BS call multiple media people and fans admit to having NEVER heard in all their years watching football. AND I didn't see him participate in the huddle.

Yep, looks like a BS call. He seems to substitute for Williams but then Williams runs back onto the field and Butler runs out.

"Violations of this rule MAY be penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct."

This sounds like complete horse****. The wording of that rule sounds like it is up to the referees discretion to call the penalty if they deem the player was trying to confuse the opponent.

If this is indeed a discretionary call as worded, that is exactly the kind of thing that leaves the NFL open to cries of conspiracy and bias.

Technically by the rule book, it was the correct call I believe. But it's sort of like traveling in the NBA, unless it's egregious, they usually don't call it. And it definitely was not egregious. The refs had a stick in their bum today for some reason.

And again, someone else on twitter is saying the intent is really to not run a guy in quickly, have the defense adjust and then run the guy out trying to catch the D putting in a certain package.

Butler seems to have run in, Williams ran out, then Williams ran back in and Butler left. So it wasn't like we ran in two OL signaling we were going to run the ball, then quickly ran Butler back in trying to catch the Pack in some sort of "jumbo" D.
