Igor Olshansky will be better in both run support and pass rush than Canty was here. Not a doubt in my mind about it.

Yeah I have Canty as the most overrated Cowboy right ahead of Burnett. I still don't see how anyone watching the games that I watched called either a playmaker esp Bennett.

In a 3-4, the DE isn't going to be a big contributor pass rushing. That's not his primary job.

Yes, I know. It is the exact same defense that Igor O will be playing in and I expect him to have an equal or greater impact than Canty did.

It really isn't even far-fetched to think he would. I can't figure out why it would upset Stewart Scott... er, Canty.

about him here in Dallas... Especially regarding his replacement here.

Let's guess (shouldn't be too hard)... He's upset at the talk that we got roughly the same player for a lot cheaper price. Can't wait to hear him whine. Sounds like yet another Giant obsessed with us.

BTW, I saw where Mosley said in a little blurb from Giants camp that Canty's move to DT hadn't been so smooth thus far. I'm sure Mosley will have the full butt-kissing interview up soon.

Doesn't like what's being said about him? That guy has already said a mouthful about his time here in Dallas and it hasn't been all that positive either. He fits the Giants just perfect.

I'm glad he's gone!

Canty is probably pissed because he wanted Tommy Kelley money, didn't quite get it and everybody here probably would have been pissed if he had gotten that money because he ain't worth that much. Instead, we got Igor at a much cheaper price and it's been apparent from the get go he's as good, if not better than Canty. To Canty's credit, he was a good teammate, worked hard and behaved himself and probably doesn't like the fact that the media that he probably thinks buddied up to him has now turned their backs on them. I don't think the local media has done that in this case, but that's how players tend to think in situations like this.

I wish him the best of luck, except when he's playing the Cowboys. But there's no way Dallas should have paid him what he was asking for.

YAKUZA

Had we paid him that, I would bet the farm and the livestock on it that New Jersey fans would be mocking us for paying that much for him.

However, since New Jersey signed him, BSPN and associated mediots have bought stock in Chap Stick for kissing NY's butt over the deal.

What's nuttier than squirrel turds is that they're looking at bringing Canty in as a 3rd down pass rush specialist from the training camp reports. :lmao2:

hmm decent player that we took a flyer on that ended up signing a much bigger deal than he was worth with one of our biggest rivals...

ya I can't see why anyone would hate on the guy.

I think merely signing a contract to play for the Giants turns players into idiots. Seriously, it's not like the Cowboys were just going out of their way to talk about him. Somebody asked about Igor and how Wade thought he would do replacing Canty, and he answered.

I always liked Canty's attitude when he was here, and how stout he was against the run. Plus he had some swagger which we are sorely lacking. However, he was never even close to playing up to what he got paid, and I'm thankful that for once Jerry didn't overpay a guy just because he's worn the star for a few years.

Another whiny ex Cowboy.
Yep. It's a shame when your new employer shells out $42 million (of which $17 million is guaranteed) and it's still falls far short of assuaging your 'hurt' feelings about your former team.

I liked Canty for what he brought. However, if you watch game films and just him, you notice a few things. He got less push one on one than any other lineman. Even his sacks were from the Qb having to step up from outside pressure and basically fall into Canty's lap.

He's much better against the run than the pass. That's for sure.

Who's Canty?

:laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: I'm not mad at Canty for getting paid, but it seems to me he should be concerned with his new positon and team rather than whats being said about him in Dallas.

Canty had what two maybe three good games? Jets Game comes to mind. Other then that He was a no call no show. So glad He's out of here and we got That IGOR monster. He's stronger then canty and hopefully does more with less money.

I think he's a better player who got the same stats as Canty in a lesser Defense. Here he will be between Ware and Ratliff. I just think he'll be better than people realize. He is a bull. I do expect him to come out on some passing downs because he is primarily a run stuffer. I just think he will benefit from who surrounds him.

Congrats on 3000 posts. Keep it up.

Funny thing is, I read that the giants are experimentting with a five man line, and guess who is not in the rotation?

And to clarify Mosley's comment, he said he's been told Canty has had some struggles so far in his transition to the 43. Can that be possible? I mean, he came with the Parcells recommendation...

Well considering Canty has been nursing a tight hamstring and has been relegated to the stationary bike for most of training camp, perhaps that is what he may have been referring to?

During OTAs and early on in training camp before the hamstring starter acting up he was being credited with getting lots of penetration and pass deflections. I'm not worried about the transition. It's not like he's moving from TE to WR, he's a proven vet who has played on the defensive line his entire career, he'll be fine.

And for those hyping up Igor, good luck with that. Getting benched on a bad defense for quitting on your team during a contract year is usually a great indicator for future success.

The Giants are planning to implement the occasional 5-1-5 formation.

And Canty figures very prominently in that rotation when he gets back on the field. Just imagine.
