Update on Michael Gallup

With the Cowboys playing a lot of 12 personnel - 1 RB and two TEs - Gallup would not be seeing much time unless it was at the expense of Lamb or Cooper.
I don't like 12 personnel. Telegraphs the run. 21 with Zeke/Pollard or McGovern and a back in the backfield is superior.

If he is missing this week there's no reason to not give him until after the bye week.

Calves can be tricky, and I wouldn't imagine it being any easier on a WR.

His lack of stats are going to hurt him, but I've said all along that I don't think he is going to command WR1 type money on the open market. They are too easily available in the draft these days.

We very well may be able to afford to keep him.

Lotsa ball to be played before that decision is in front of the braintrust though

I thought him being injured would lower his contract for next yr, but saw Galloday hurt majority of last yr and still get paid market value.

I think "the emergence of Cedrick Wilson" (who is a JAG) has more to do with how great our quarterback is than Cedrick Wilson.

Wut? Go look at his targets versus catches. Dude is a great route runner, has great body control, and has caught everything thrown his way. He doesn't have a ton of tape, but watch it and you'll see a guy who could start for at least half the teams in the league.

I think it's time to admit our QB is underrated **. And top 5. Currently he's #1 in the MVP race, Josh Allen close behind at #2.
Thanks goes to the Oline,if not for them the offense and dak would suck, which has been proven in years past...pray they all stay healthy and keep this train rolling.

If I had to guess I would say Gallup will be back after the bye week. Not a bad problem to have
I mean get all we can outta him cuz Cedric Wilson is his replacement we won’t be paying Gallup unless he take a huge discount which he won’t becuz someone n our division will pay him like a #1

We're deep at the position and there's no reason to rush him back or even come close. Let him return 100%.

Does he have an injury clause, maybe we will cut him too. :)

I think he does. It says if he's injured, then there's no chance we'll re-sign him. If he's not, then there's little change we'll re-sign him.

Getting MG back for the second half of the season will be huge. He and Dak have great chemistry on the deep ball.

I don't understand why so many think Joseph is this seasons savior at CB? He played very little college football and had 1 amazing game against Smith. He wasn't too impressive during the preseason and training camp either. He certainly has athleticism, but the learning curve will likely keep him down on the depth chart for the forseeable future. I thought there was a chance as the season went on he may end up starting later in the season, but with the time missed I'm not expecting him to take over Brown's spot anytime soon.

100%

How do they plan on bringing back all these players on IR after the bye week?

Curious what this damaged goods season does to his free agency price this coming spring. If he misses the bulk of the year it's not going to make his agent very happy.
That's good. We might be able to afford to keep Michael Gallup after all. Let him miss as many games as possible this season.

Missing half the season before he hits FA sure doesn't help.

I don't think it hurts him, there is 3 years worth of film and Gallup is a pretty know commodity these day. I would agree if the injury was serious in terms of a long term injury.
