There is "sick in the head". Then there is "so sick in the head that you are tempted to molest someone with potential witnesses nearby."

I recall when I was a kid seeing a video of a man shooting the man who had kidnapped and molested his son. They showed it on the evening news, the whole video. Molester is being escorted through the airport by the fbi, the father is hidden, pretending to be someone talking on a payphone, and as they walk by, he puts one in the molesters head.

It's on youtube, I believe.

I can't remember the dad's name but the pedophile who he shot was Jeffrey Doucet. It happened in the mid-80s I think, and the dad was convicted of a relatively minor charge and got out in like four or five years.

I have no doubt he tells everyone that it was well worth it.

Thank God for the difference between Texas and Canada.
So just how do Canadians react when a father catches someone raping their 4 y/o daughter? Just curious.

I saw a story about a quiet little old lady, who sat in the courtroom and never said a word while the trial of the man that raped and murdered her daughter went on.

As soon as he was found guilty she slowly stood up and put six bullets into him.

Nobody thought to check the "quiet little old lady" for a gun. :D
Wonder if there was a metal detector located outside that courtroom. I can see it now...

Young man, I don't like walking through these new fangled machine things.

That's alright ma'am. Don't worry about it for a second. You can walk around the outside of it.

Thank you. You're a decent soul. *BEEP!* Oops. Better check that guy behind me. He may be packing.

That's funny.

I don't know but I'm sure reminiscing about Wayne Gretzky would make its way into the story at some point.

Allegedly: Father walked up on a guy sexually assaulting his 4-yr old daughter and he beat the guy to death.
If what was alleged to have taken place actually took place ... then justice was served. I truly believe I would've done the same thing the father did, no hesitation. Can't imagine reacting any other way. The action would be instinctive and immediate, not premeditated. I'm no expert but I think that's somewhere to be triggered in every red blooded, loving and protective parent's DNA.

Being a native Texan myself, I would venture to guess that if a poll was taken, probably close to 99% of Texas fathers would have done the same thing....with the remaining 1% just having no spine to do it.

Nothing to see here, .. one guy did his duty, and the other got what was coming to him.

On another note for you "law" gurus, what if this was McQueary?

then the assault would not have been stopped.

I think even if they did try to charge this guy with something, he could plead temporary insanity.

Nor should they.

The story as reported does seem a bit fishy to me - the guy assaulted the daughter when he knew the dad and others were nearby? Basically, I just don't trust news stories like this to report the events completely or accurately. Wait and see.

that is how it happens, and I mean all of the time. Other than baby sitters, most people do not get too much unsupervised time alone with someone else's child to be able to do that type of thing.

We have a family friend who's child was molested by the neighbor. They live in a very affluent neighborhood, the man had a nice wife and was great with the kids in a non creepy way. She had a surveillance system all over the house, cameras in every room, yet still the guy had the nerve to do it with the parents in the house, he just found the blind spots of the cameras.

my girlfriends mom was adopted and was a victim as well. Same thing, he would do it even when his wife was home, and she had no idea and to this day refuses to believe it happened.

If the story is true, I sure couldn't convict.

//Read the story and it's going to the grand jury. I would no bill him if on it.

Well said. There aren't any geographic barriers to that kind of rage response.

A different nerve is touched when someone does something to your child.

I don't have a daughter, but if you touch my 4 yr old little girl in that way, .. prepare for the fight of your life, one of us is going to die.

I did not realize you profiled child molesters for a living. How do they usually attack kids?

I would love to watch you voice your doubts about the father's integrity to his face.

I agree yeag...I just know first hand about Texas is why I phrased it that way....a good portion have CHL's and the ones that don't have them carry guns anyway regardless of the license...especially when you get in the rural areas of the state

Amen to that, WVC.
