Im not entirely opposed to this, but if the extension does happen, then Wade needs to start putting his foot down and taking some responsibility for what happens on the other side of the football.

Basically he needs to start acting like a head coach.

SIGH!!!!!:banghead: I guess Jerry is content with 1 and done with one of the most talented teams in the league. We had a very up and down season. There were too many games when poor preparation and motivation caused us to lose. Both Giants games, Denver, Green Bay, & San Diego this team was not motivated and did not play to the potential of our roster not to mention the KC game. The Vikings absolutely embarrassed this team just as the Eagles did last year. That is not acceptable to me. If Wade fulfills his whole contract we will have wasted 3 more years with a VERY talented roster! One good 4 games stretch in two years with this much talent is not enough for me. I just hope our window of opportunity doesn't close before Jerry wakes up. :(

I like this 3yr extension. If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it.

Despite the loss to MIN, this team is 100x better here at the end of 2009 going into 2010 than they were at the end of 2008 going into 2009.

Plus...Wade has the support of the players (especially the team leaders)...no need to mess w/ that chemistry just because people don't like that Wade's not "RAH RAH" enough.

Because it is broke and it definitely needs to be fixed.

Allow me to do you one small favor here:

"Despite the loss to (fill in the blank) this team is (fill in the blank)x better here at the end of (fill in the blank) going into (fill in the blank) than they were at the end of (fill in the blank) going into (fill in the blank)."

Go ahead and cut and paste it because you're going to need to post this same reply for every year he continues to coach this team.

Plus...Wade has the support of the players (especially the team leaders)...no need to mess w/ that chemistry just because people don't like that Wade's not "RAH RAH" enough.

Once again, I'm going to repeat myself...he has the support of the players because he's the true definition of a "Players' Coach". Meaning, they have nothing to fear from lovable, huggable Wade Phillips. Show me how many other times a "players' coach" for this team has taken them all the way (and Switzer doesn't count because he blew it by losing to the 'niners in the NFC Championship with Jimmy's team and denying our place in history as the greatest NFL franchise -ever!!!).

And it's not like I need a "RAH RAH" type head coach either (it would be nice but it's not neccessary). What I do want, however, is REAL head coach and not one simply paying lip service. If I said it once, I've said it 1000 times: "Wade Phillips is a head coach in name only!"

And Jean-Jacques Taylor is a bigger fool than I thought he was if he thinks Wade is going to make his starters earn their positions for 2010.

That's absolutely laughable.

LMAO I watched the press conference at one point Jerry was all excited telling a story, and Wade's face looked like he had to take a ****.

Wade is my favorite coach, ever. :lmao:
