Yikes. AOA, Whitley, Atkins, Szczerba and Teddy over Hamilton, Lemon, Bass and Coale???? And I like Teddy Williams but not better than Hamilton.

And Dockery is a POS.

Calm down. They still have about 10 cuts to go. All of those players who are so distasteful to you may yet be cut.

As for Williams vs. Hamilton, Hamilton doesn't play corner. If the Cowboys feel they need an extra CB rather than an extra LB, Hamilton is not it. Williams might be.

They know who they are all 22 but they have not let it out and the Cowboys will not release the official list until tomorrow.

Most are know because the players let it out that they got cut or someone like family leaked it out.

I'm sure they do but we don't. The ones who let it are the only ones we know about. There are still around 10 that we don't know. So crying about holmes. or others still on the roster is just silly

i sort of expect that the 200k we gave Leary is going to keep him here. Obviously, he can take that cash and run, but he and his agent might tell other teams that he wants to stay and continue to work with Callahan. Both the money and the quality of the OL coaching make that a good deal.

Me too. I thought the contract would have got him at least a year on the team.

Based on what I saw, I'm not sure any team has a reason to want him on their 53.

But I'm not sure that Dallas will be making a lot of moves as far as picking guys up.

Unless a guy like James Jones who played for our WR coach is cut then we have are three 3rd wr what you see at wr is what we are going into the season with. Costa will be the starting center if they get a guy it will most liekly be a swing guy g/c combo that will be a backup

Because they are on the waiver wire for 24 hours, then can be signed to the practice squad. Other teams don't have to make their own cuts until Friday evening, and can't add any of our guys to their current rosters without also releasing someone.

It could be that the Cowboys are hoping to get their guys through waivers before other teams have room to claim them. It's a risk that I thought they might take.

There is not that much difference whether the cuts are made today or tomorrow. If a team wants to claim a player it has to make room for him on their 53-man roster, regardless of whether they have made their cuts or not. Claim him tomorrow, they have to cut an extra player. Claim him Saturday, they still have to cut a player. If a team wants a player and can make room for him, they will do so. The same calculations have to be made either way.

The one possible advantage I can see is that if a team looks at the Cowboys' cuts they don't have the complete list of cuts to compare it with. That could raise some uncertainty and allow a player to slide through.

Here's a quote from an article when the changes were announced:

"The NFL will also drop the "three-day rule" from preseason practice guidelines. Once players who did not begin training camp with the team reported, including players signed during camp or the preseason, they had a three-day window in which they could not take part in fully padded practices.

That rule would not have applied in the regular season and will no longer be enforceable in the preseason."

The question, then, will be whether or not the Cowboys are still considered in the preseason or not. If so, then the rules may or may not still apply, but would definitely be gone for next year. If not, it wouldn't have mattered since it didn't affect the regular season anyway.

Thank goodness they are canning this ridiculous rule. Why the NFLPA wanted it in the first place is beyond me. I can't see it helping either the players involved or the teams.

OK. So that makes it likely that it would be Dockery, unless Dallas cuts from another position since it only has eight linemen (Smith, Livings, Costa, Bernadeau, Free, Parnell, Dockery, Arkin).
