Really? I haven't heard anything about that.

I wasn't really expecting Green, because the Chargers staff reportedly loves him. I'm looking at Kory Sperry, since he already knows the Norv offense and he can play the Y and block in line on the line of scrimmage.

To be honest, the way Arkin played and got tossed around like a rag doll all pre season, he can go somewhere else and get tossed around. He is weak and slow.

Slow is laughable not strong enough yet that i would agree with but he showed he can play in this league with some more work.

He never played center before but was forced into it and did better than you expected and showed improvement. If you cut him another team grabs him and finishes grooming him into a starter and you wasted a fourth round pick because you released him before his 3rd year.

Lets not act liek he was a complete and utter stiff out their.

I haven't seen that game yet, but I know they were talking about moving David Diehl to LT and playing Sean Locklear at RT.

I can only imagine the collective freakout going on here if we had Sean Locklear starting at right tackle.

They were playing Locklear at left tackle with Eli in the game for four series against NE. I couldn't believe it.

He does.

And that is exactly what a reasonable person would expect at this point.

He was drafted from a small school and he really never had any sort of weight training at all. He's a year out from that. You don't go from doughboy to NFL ready in a single year usually.

Oh yeah, he also had zero time to practice at guard.

Arkin is athletic just not strong enough. His school had NO weight training program at all; I saw a picture of their 'training room' and it was PATHETIC.

I mean a 1970's small high school in Iowa had better

I think Arkin could reasonably fill in for spot duty but if he has to fill in for a 3 or longer game stretch I don't feel comfortable about that.

Also at this point I would want him to be developed as a center. He will not posses the size to be a guard in Garrett's system so don't waste his time trying to learn that position. He can probably learn quite abit behind Costa and Cook.

Next year will be his to prove his worth.

No, they sent lots of guys into the pattern, but they started going shotgun and short drops. They did the same thing against Chicago in the second quarter. Looks like we'll get to test the press ability of the corners.

The one thing Locklear has going for him is that he's pretty good at holding and willing to do it, so at least he won't get Eli killed.
