Updated scenario please?

Minnesota is 8-6 right now, just to clarify for you guys. They need A LOT to happen to get in. They would be the worst 10-6 team from my understanding

Carolina 10-5
Tampa Bay 10-5
Washington 9-6
Dallas 9-6
Minnesota 8-6

SCENARIO #1

Washington loses next week and Cowboys win. Regardless of what the other teams do, Cowboys get in the Playoffs.

SCENARIO #2

If Carolina, Washington and Tampa all win next week, we are eliminated regardless of the St. Louis game result next week.

SCENARIO #3

Carolina, Washington, Minnesota, and Dallas are 10-6 (This means Tampa won and Carolina lost next week.)

Cowboy get in the Playoffs. (Because Washington wins the tiebreaker first with best NFC record, and then Cowboys beat Carolina and Minnesota with tiebreaker.)

SCENARIO #4

Tampa, Washington, Minnesota and Dallas are 10-6. (This means Carolina won next week and Tampa lost.)

Cowboys eliminated. (Because Tampa wins the tiebreaker first. They beat Minnesota and Washington. Then who cares for second wild card spot because Washington will always beat Dallas.)

I made a tiebreaker thread last week and was told by Adam and others that Dallas wins the tiebreaker against Tampa, Carolina, Atlanta, and Minnesota if we are all 10-6, so I am assuming that in these scenarios. I was told that Cowboys have the strength of schedule tiebreaker over Minnesota.

True they have nothing to play for for themselves but having the oppurtunity to knock a division rival out of the playoffs is the next best thing.

Is this right? Our playoff hopes are in the hands of Atlanta and Philadelphia, two teams who have nothing to play for next week?

Great just great. I am feeling confident though.

I think we only need one of them to lose and us win then on Sunday night. That's what I gather from Adam in the other thread.

do you belive this Atlanta got there field goal blocked at the 5 yard line omg if we dont make the playoffs it could have been because of a 20 yard missed field goal wow.. But i think Atlanta at home can take care of Carolina. The good thing is that both teams playing at home

Giants are in atleast for a WC. If they lose they have the edge over us because they beat Washington we didn't. If we had won last week we would probably be talking about a chance at a div title. But we all know what happened in the real world.

We hafta kinda win too. Those aren't easy in the NFL even agaisnt a bad Rams team.

What about Tampa?

Even if Tampa loses, we'd need either Washington or Carolina to lose. If Tampa loses and both Washington and Carolina win, the Bucs would beat Washington for the first wild card, and Washington would get the second wild card. If Washington loses, we'd move ahead of them and get one of the wild cards. If Carolina loses, Tampa wins the South and we'd get no worse than the second wild card (even if Washington wins and gets the first wild card, we'd beat Carolina and anyone else in a tiebreaker for the second wild card).

what if tampa loses?
I wouldn't worry about that. They play New Orleans.

Fortunately for us, the Falcons and Eagles are teams that have some pride and will play it out ... particularly the Eagles. I haven't seen that team take their effort down a notch yet, despite being out of it for a while. And, the game is in Philly .. which helps a bit.

yeah Atlanta will play strong, but I don't think their D is going to be able to stop a Panther's offense who will be knowing the playoffs are on the line. Plus the Panthers are almost designed specifically to stop Michael Vick. So there's going to be a lot of if's for them to win that game.
Vick is carolinas daddy...

So if either Carolina or Washington lose next win combined with a Boys win and they are in... Correct?

Carolina is in if they win (they'll be 11-5), even if the Bucs win. The Bucs would win the division, and Carolina would get the first wild card.
