USA Today Pre-season Poll (Dallas Ranked 18th)

I saw these yesterday. They are hilariously bad.

Not just the Cowboys position, but other teams as well.

LOL. Eagles 10 spots ahead of us?

We drop because we have a RB question but the Eagles get a high ranking even though they have a QB question? Makes sense. hahahaha.

This is how I envision the conversation in the editor's office at USA TODAY:

Editor: Jimmy, I need you to write a few articles for tomorrow's edition.

Jimmy: What do do you need there boss?

Editor: First I need you to take a few AP articles on that train crash up there in Philly and change a few words, you know, make it your own type thing. Then I need you to write a minimum of 7 articles on the new Royal baby for the LIFE section, maybe throw together some news on the Kardashians, I think there is a new issue of People in the men's toilet you can use for research.

Editor: After that, I need you to look into some inside info I received about some shenanigans going on up in New England with the Patriots and Drew Bledsoe. I heard something about needles and balls and secret trips to a hidden bathroom, sounds big Jimmy, sounds real big. Dig into it, those steroid stories are ratings gold Jimmy!

Editor: When you get all that done, why don't you throw together some NFL rankings too. Fans love those rankings. I heard that the Cowboys fired their RB that ran for alot of yards, and he got hired by the Pittsburgh Eagles. That is no way to treat a guy like Emmitt Smith, so be sure to penalize them in your rankings.

Jimmy: I'm on it boss!

I like it. I love smashing their mouths by exceeding their expectations. I'd rather our expectations were tempered.

10/10 I laughed, I cried from laughing, would read again.

18th is ridiculous BUT I would say we are ranking or own selves a bit high given our current questions at the position that stabilized our offense last year.

Our offense is elite and on paper we should be able to rush the passer.

I don't think we're overrated. We're easily a top 5 team.

The only problem I have is Garretts basic passing schemes but the run game helps negate that.

They also ranked the Cowboys 27th for their 2015 draft class

Hahahaha. Nate Davis was the reporter who did that ranking. Surprisingly (or not) he also focused on lack of drafting a RB and docked us for that.

Saw this or Reddit and I'll say the same thing, how are the Rams 7 places ahead of Dallas? Do they really have that much faith in Foles?

The Rams are quietly assembling a strong team. But I agree with you.
I think this is one of those "let's rile Cowboys Nation" articles.
We received resounding praise for our offensive line play last year, and now it's all because of DeMarco Murray?
And how is Hardy a bust? Look what we did without him last year, and we have an improving DeMarcus Lawrence coming back and Randy Gregory. Plus we get Sean Lee back and Rolando McClain for a full season, including training camp.
Be that as it may, I'm kind of glad they have us ranked 18th. I like being the underdog, and I think the Cowboys do too.
