USA Today: With The Star, Cowboys raise NFL bar on team training facilities

I'm fairly certain that we could have had that without the hotel, country club or the restaurants...

Since jumping in this thread a few minutes ago I have read about 6 other articles. Nothing no one can say to me can sway me....this whole thing will help the team out in a big way short and long term.....Stop hating on the Jones pockets. You can't knock the Hustle....

Man it opens tomorrow and at a price tag of 1.5 billion, it must be awesome. I heard they where selling memberships to a select few. Did anyone here get one? And if so, what does it include?

Go Cowboys !

The Baylor probably would not have made that move if it was not for that major facility, the great surrounding and all the accommodations their employees can now take advantage of. Employees want to work in areas such as this.

Hotel helps when people want to come down to watch Camp in the summer. The country is not a country club in the traditional sense, there is no golf or tennis courts, just basically an area for patrons to sit, watch practices, be able to talk to coaches, cheerleaders and the occasional player in a better controlled and quality

JJones is great at monetizing the passions of his fanbase.....especially the rich ones....the Star will be state of the art, just like Cowboys Stadium...but it is still just a great big circus tent...

Like I said last night I read about 6 different articles as of today it has ballooned to about 15-16.....hell I even found that several of the business going up in the Star are looking for Senior Buyers and Subcontract Administrators.....Might have to make that move.....

For most teams, I'd give you that, but every poll of players I've ever read already has Dallas as the place most players desire to play.

And don't things like this help influence players wanting to play here?

My point is that we're already at the top, even with a 30 year old Valley Ranch. I'm not all that concerned with our ability to attract top talent, Star or not.

But we're not on top with every player. Furthermore, it's about maintaining one's edge and one's dominance in the market.
McDonald's is the top fast food restaurant, ever evolving and changing, ever marketing and advertising to maintain its dominance. And that's why it continues to get customers and continues to lead the industry.
Jerry Jones is no dummy when it comes to business. He understands you have to continue to build upon your brand because for everyone who knows you, there's another who has yet to discover you.
And new facilities do help sway some.

How has being number one for about a decade now (based on polls of players) translated to wins over the past two decades?

That's not the issue I'm addressing. I agree with you we have to produce on the field. No argument there. My point, however, is that upgrading one's facilities can be a draw to potential free agents.
That's the only point I'm trying to make here. I'm not trying to argue whether Jerry Jones should be general manager, whether Jason Garrett is getting the most out of the team, etc.

I think that JJ realized awhile ago that money can't but Super Bowls, so he decided the win the Super Bowl of stadiums, practice facilities and generating revenue because that is something that he can buy.

And honestly, as far as football environments go, our stadium is at the bottom of the league. It's a billion dollar POS as far as experience is concerned.
