Responding to Adam's post. It didn't let me do the quote thing for some reason.

Remember when some fans (just one actually) thought Brandon Everage was the Second Coming.

And then, just like that, he was the second going...

Good ol' Brandon Average, whatever happened to him??

Oh, i like this game......

Remember when....

A memory was something you lost with age
A cursor used profanity
A web was a spider's home
A virus was the flue
A hard drive was a long drive on the road
A mouse pad was where a mouse lived

I remember when Ronnie Lott said that he loved to watch Roy Williams play because he played the game like he did.

I remember when Roy Williams had a job.

"Well, Mom, remember my dream
of owning a big house on a hill...

..and how I used to wish for a living room
with a plaster lion in it from Mexico?

And how I always wanted
a large -seat dining table...

..in a dining room with original paintings
by Michelangelo and Rembrandt?

And remember how I always wanted
a rotating bed...

...with pink chiffon and zebra stripes

And remember how I used to chitchat
with dad about...

...always wanting a bathtub
shaped like a clam...

..and an offiice
with orange and white stripes?

Remember how much I wanted an all red
billiard room with a giant stuffed camel...

..and how I wanted a disco room
with my own disco dancers...

..and a party room with fancy friends?

And remember how much I wanted
a big backyard with Grecian statues...

..S- shaped hedges,
and three swimming pools?

Well, I got that too.

I guess it's safe to say that "TEAM" + "0" = "Kickoff Reached Endzone"
Finally something constructive out of you.

I keep seeing where our new kickoff specialist had a 55% touchback rate. I'm guessing another 10% went into the end zone but was returned by the opposing team. Does anyone know what the average starting field position was for USC?

not exactly sure, but i believe they changed the rules in college football a few years ago.....all kicks that go into the end zone are automatic touchbacks....

I think too much is being made of the kick and too little with the coverage. If we cover kickoffs better, we will be better. In the heyday of the 1990s, Eddie Murray could barely get the ball to the ten yard line, yet he had decent hang time and above all, we had great coverage players. Last year we had people like Bobby Carpenter and Justin Rogers as "aces".

Folk did horribly, but I think that had a lot to do with what he was told. Yes, he needed to get more air under the football and know how to place his kicks. Was getting that worth a fifth round choice? I am not so sure.
Yeah, he was told to get more under the kick to give our lousy coverage another second to get down the field. Remember when some starters like Darren Woodson, actually played on special teams? Not saying the units should be littered with starters but to me that shows it was more important to other coaches to have the best out there.

Too bad you wasted your time, cause obviously the guy can kick and cause touchbacks, other wise he would not have been drafted, but nice work anyways.

I do not waste my time. You, however, are wasting yours.

This is a thread about our newly drafted kicker, for which I posted information related to his kicking efforts in college. It's relevant. Sorry.
