I know how it was created....I am saying it should have been dropping two and two. Each team should have brought 6 teams to the Conference. The Big Eight teams go to the Big 12 North and the SWC teams go to the Big 12 South.

Had they done it my way...they could have still had the RRR every year, OU/Nebraska every year, and most likely UT/OU in the Big 12 Championship every year this decade.

And I would not sacrifice Baylor for someone like Arkansas. I like having Baylor in the Big 12. They may not offer much in the way of football, but their impact is definitely felt in other areas, like academics.

The problem, to me Biggs, is that a configuration of schools such as the one outlined in the Big12 South would hurt the Big12 South winner in the BCS. The only school that provides strenght of schedule consistently is Texas. Tech depending on the year but no consistently. On the other hand, the North has all the power teams. That side of the conference would be good in the BCS. Big12 could seriously hurt themselves in the BCS if those changes happen.

really? Houston and TCU are far better than Colorado and Iowa St.

Also, because Texas is so rich with HS talent, those schools would get even better recruits, since they would be part of a major conference like the Big 12.

Yes, the South would suffer by losing OU.....but it would be ok, cause Texas, TCU, Houston, and TT would bring enough fire power.

OU and OSU would revive the North. With Snyder back at KSU, that school is on its way back. Nebraska is getting back to its winning ways. Mizzou and Kansas are solid.

BTW, i know what you mean about CU and them being a powerhouse in the 90s. It is just wishful thinking on my part.

Yes, really. It doesn't matter how good Texas HS recruiting is. It's clear that as good as it is, even schools like A&M can't make a go of it because Texas is so dominant in recruiting wars. Just because OU and OKSt. go to the North doesn't mean that they would stop having success recruiting Texas HS talent. Houston and TCU are not powerhouse programs. Yeah, there good now but they won't remain so. I don't agree that it would not affect the BCS in the South. I just think it would help programs like Nebraska and hurt Texas. JMO.

You can't kick Colorado out of the Big 12. They are part of a huge market in Denver that the Big 12 really much needs. Their academics are also not that bad. What does Houston and TCU add? The Big 12 already has the DFW and Houston market even if there are no teams directly in the metro areas. Not to mention that outside of Oklahoma, Colorado is Nebraska's other big rival.
