One corner blitz? The guy didn't say anything about who dominated.

True Dallas might not have done as much as they will in the regular season, but it was still more complex then anything Tennesee did.

What's not true?

None of the highlighted parts are true. You and redfader must have watched the game together.

What's not true?

I really wondered what game people were watching.

Tennessee only pulled some starters out with 53 seconds left in the first half...mostly secondary players. Which players of ours did the damage on our last drive?

A TE....and a RB. No WRs.

And what complex offense or defense did we run? I really don't understand that. We ran one reverse.....We threw nothing downfield....we threw short passes and checkdowns.

How is that complex?

Keith Brooking himself has said that we have been running a basic defense.

This is such a lame argument.....No matter how you look at it, we didn't squeak by....we dominated.

And just remember everyone, Detroit was 4-0 last year in the preaseason, so whatever happens really doesn't mean anything.

oh yeah? what plays were complex in that mix that leads you to believe we were running more than vanilla?
Very few times was Bennett even in that first string, yet that will be a large part of our offense is the two tightend set. No Felix/MBIII in the backfield sametime. Some plain jane easy to recognize fake reverses? Tell me that is not what you are going on...

And as far as Tennessee having backups in on defense, it was only the last few minutes of the half did they stroll them in. So despite an excellent job by Romo, only that last two minute drill can be accredited to 1st string vs 2nd. Still was excellent drive by both Romo and Felix.

Are you RAT? He was the only guy I know that was as negative as you are but at same time claiming to be a Cowboy's fan. Of course this is not a question based on this reply alone, just an observation. Do you have anything positive to say?

To further strengthen your point, it was actually only in the last 54 seconds of the half that they pulled their starting secondary.

I think it's okay to get a tad excited, especially with their ability to move the ball at will, but we still should hold back the excitement until the playoffs get here.

Fixed it!

Don't all teams play vanilla at this point ?

Ehh.

I do see think that the Cowboys played a little more run game than usual, and a little more short passing routes than usual. Seems more like they are trying to get comfortable more than exploit their talent.

On a side note, I never understand why teams play the whole "vanilla" thing in the preseason. Screw that. It's evaluation, time to go all out and throw in the whole playbook. That's why teams end up with busts and are overrated.

Because it is about evaluation of a players skills not whether or not you can out scheme the other team. You wanna know if you call a quick slant that Hurd can beat the guy across from him and make a tough catch in traffic on third down or that your DB can take the slant away from Hurd. Not whether or not you can scheme a play to get Bennett wide open in the flats for an easy first down.

And just because they have football skills means that translates to NFL skills ? No.
