Nowhere in my previous posts in this thread have I claimed that this preseason game, or any other preseason game, meant a damn thing! I've been a football fan long enough (Dallas fan since the team's inception!) to know that these games are meaningless in the standings and in predicting any kind of future success or failure of a team.
Once again, go look at you list of posts in CZ and find anywhere where you have posted any kind of positive thread. ANY Cowboys fan would have found at least one or two positive things in the time you have been a member of this board.
Your hatred for Tony Romo is way, way, way over the top. In fact, your posts indicate that you are obsessed with him and wanting him to fail. Take your pathetic act back to whatever team you root for, or try being a man and come onto this site openly as a fan of whatever team you root for. Preseason games are about coaching and player evaluation. If there are positives or negatives which are gleamed from these games, they can be discussed primarily about how the roster performs and coaching scenarios.

Quarterback observations

• What measures has Tony Romo made to protect the football?
• How well has he distributed the ball?
• Does it appear that he suffering any ill effects from last season's injuries?

Running back observations

• Does Felix Jones show burst and lateral movement in regards to his recovered toe injury of 08?
• How proficient has he picked up blitzers (e.g. blocking)?
• Is Marion Barber running like a Barbarian?
• Has Tashard Choice looked sharp on limited preseason carries?

Wide receiver observations

• Does Roy Williams look like he's in sync with Romo?
• Has Williams shown that he can be the possession receiver for th offense?
• Does Miles Austin look as if he has maintained his speed?
• Does it appear whether Austin can duplicate his flashes from the '08 preseason?
• How does Sam Hurd's route running looked?
• Which plays has Patrick Crayton looked best in?
• Is Ogletree or Isaiah Stanback the better fifth option at the position after only two preseason games?

Tight end observations

• [Only idiots and Chris Cooley debate Witten negatively]
• Does Martellus Bennett look like the extra weapon this offense needs in passing situations?
• How has Phillips' blocking looked in limited opportunities?

Offensive line observations

• How has Cory Procter looked as a backup behind Andre Gurode?
• How comfortable does Flozell Adams and Kyle Kosier looked on the left side so far?
• Does it appear that the line is gelling?
• Does it appear that they're progressing or regressing with their blocking assignments?
• How will have they blocked the starting defensive lines for the Raiders and Titans?
• Which side of the offensive line looks more solid in run or pass situations?

Defensive line observations

• How's Junior Savali (sp?) backing up Jay Ratliff?
• How many running plays has Igor Orlandsky (sp?) stone-walled?
• Has Jason Hatcher provided quality depth appearance in limited opportunities.
• Does Jay Ratliff look hungrier now than ever before?
• Can Marcus Spears continue to shore up his side of the line?

Linebacker observations

• Is Keith Brookings all that we want as an inside linebacker?
• Does Anthony Spencer look good in passing situations?
• How has Bobby Carpenter looked in nickel packages?
• Are the rookie linebackers getting a better feel for the defensive packages?
• Does DeMarcus Ware looked primed to take his game up a notch for '09?

Defensive back observations

• Has Terence Newman looked more aggressive in pass coverage?
• Does Michael Jenkins look lost?
• Is Orlando Scandrick locking down his responsibilities in nickel and dime packages?
• How tight has Sensabaugh's coverage looked against tight ends in coverage?
• Has Ken Hamlin looked better against the run?

Special team observations

• What do the coverage packages look like thus far?
• Which gunners have looked best?
• How has Buehler, Nick Folk and Mat McBriar looked?
• Has the tackling been subpar?
• Has longsnapping been crisp?

Coaching observations

• Is Jason Garrett looking more comfortable calling plays with his current players now than the end of last season?
• Does it look like Wade Phillips has instilled more discipline or not in his defense?
• Where does it look like Joe DeCamillis can solidify his special teams' play?
• Does Ray Sherman appear to have his third, fourth and fifth wide receivers understanding their roles as well as they should at this stage?

Etc., etc. You could be talking about these and a gawddamn litany of other things on a Dallas Cowboys fan forum. Why not try doing that for a change instead of continually stating that Romo sucks or the regular season doesn't matter until it's January? And please! Spare me with a point-for-point reply to this post. It's not about 'conforming' in a one-post reply and following up with 250 uninterrupted, overly pessimistic, tunnelvision comments over the next two months. It's about talking about your team... IF you're actually claiming them AS your team.

What makes me even more optimistic and excited about this offense is that the playcalling has been rather "unsexy" Which is perfectly normal in the preseason. I've noticed that they havn't even split Martellus out wide on a motion or Felix going in motion out of the backfield. We carved up that Titans D just playing smash mouth football.

It's scary to think that this offense moves down the field just running basic football plays. Wait till the real fun starts will Marty B and Wittens matchup nightmares for defenses and not to mention Felix becoming even MORE explosive

We've seen a limited sample. Vanilla is my favorite flavor though.
