It's not Vaughn.
It's the the coaches.

Some can knock and hate on Vaughn as much as they like.
But we have the wrong coaches, ..wrong system, ..wrong scheme for Deuce.

- Our coaches knew what they were getting with his skill set and limited size.
it's been smallish backs that had some success in a certain roles.
Warrick Dunn, Darren Sproles, Dave Meggett Jacquizz Rodgers.

- But the very same way those same coaches want to force Pollard to be a pounding bell cow,
and simply dunno how to scheme or develop Pollard's own receiving skills as a pass receiver.
those same coaches that dunno how to devise role scheme for Vaughn as a nickel back.
We're so mediocre with the way we use our RBs in pass game.
Where are the RB screens ?

- We've apparently even gave up on him as a backup returner on special teams.
If Turpin were to get hurt, who then becomes our immediate punt returner with experience ?
No other team drafted him,

No other team drafted him,
how do we know if an NFL team would've eventually drafted him later on ?

And that's mute point since he showed out for us and displayed what kind of role, specialty
he could've been in preseason action.

He won’t be back next season and he could possibly be released at some point this season. Kept telling everyone not to get so excited about him. Even though we’re barely halfway through the season, it’s safe to say a lot of fans are eating a healthy dose of crow.

Disagree.

When he plays he will shine because he’s a good football player.

Can’t produce with no opportunity.

Don't give up on Vaughn. We knew he would need to be put in the right situations, but our coaching staff hasn't put him in those situations. He's limited, but get him in space and he can help move the chains 3 or 4 times a game. It took a year for them to figure out how to use Turpin. Give them a year to figure out how to incorporate Little Deuce Deuce.

As long as he’s still on the team, they haven’t given up, but it’s not looking good. Appears whatever plan they had for him entering the season has gone out the window. I think he’ll end up in the XFL/USFL next year.
He should shoot for the Olympic flag football squad.

He has gotten to play and did absolutely nothing. He’s had 17 carries for less than 2.0 a carry. He doesn’t have the size, he can’t block or play special teams.

The problem with Vaughn is he is redundant right now. Pollard is bigger version and just a better overall back. Turpin is probably taking plays that Vaughn could get. What the Cowboys need is a downhill back and that is not Vaughn. Am I disappointed? Yes. Am I surprised maybe a little, but I think it often takes rookies time to adjust.

Just remember the Cowboys 4th (Viliami Fehoko), and 1st 6th pick (Eric Scott) have not been active either, and how about that 7th round pick Jalen Brooks how many games has he been inactive.

I don't see the posts on these guys, why pick on Vaughn? Doesn't make sense to me, but whatever.

.. .I think Vaughn had better highlights coming in. I guess we expected more of that here.

But NFL is tough cookie.

He can't pass block.......that's not changing.....he's just not big enough.
1) he's a rookie - he has to learn/develop to be decent enuff blocker - do you think smallish Dunn/Sproles were top
blockers ? Lance Dunbar ?

2) Yet these aforementioned smallish guys were explosive run/receivers when designed/schemed well.
We simply do not have the proper coaches that is ideal for Vaughn.

3) He does not help Deuce's cause that he is not an established special teams returner coming out of KSU
That limits his value.

Right now with all the injury problems the Cowboys have they are goign to go lone on O-line and LB. No way are they going to carry all these backs. Pollard, Dowdle, Luepke and then also Vaughn. Not happening.

Next, the team has to be operating on offence in a good way to use a player like Deuce. If your O-line is bleeding like a leaky sieve why would you shore up your weaknesses with an undersized player? That is insanity.

If they can get this o-line stable then there is a chance to get the offence rolling, and then have defences off balance to a point where a rookie like Deuce could gash a defence that is chasing a high powered offence.

Now that Edoga has been carted off, and Tyron is being Tyron I don't think there will be any chance of any rookie offensive player seeing the Dallas lineup unless the regular season game is meaningless.

MM doesn't have a leash long enough to let him play with the possibility of losing Dak to injury. If Dak is down, then MM is fired or let go. So this year the coaching staff is rolling with the most experienced players to protect their chances of getting a new contract.

 Oh noes a 5th round draft pick is taking time to develop.

From what I saw he looked overwhelmed and needed the game to slow down. I am alright to be patient.
The guy is 5’4. Richard Sherman was a fifth round pick how long did he take to develop.
